Is this the Body Shop's Fault? :(

About 40 days ago, after being rear ended at a red light.... I got a brand new bumper from acura which was painted nighthawk black and it looked great. Well, about a week ago I washed my car just before i went on my week cruise. I checked the car before I left on that cruise and it looked perfect. I returned from the cruise today and (my car was in my garage the whole week) and on the bumper there is a mark on the car that I have never seen before. It's like a huge fingerprint but much bigger, and will not come off. It looks awful, i tried swirl remover and Meguiars Scratch X, but it didnt work. I was wondering if any of you can suggest any alternative methods on getting this thing off by looking at the pic below to see what it looks like. Should I go to the body shop, and tell them that they didnt do a quality paint job on the bumper? If they refuse to help, can a shop buff it out, and how much do you think that will cost. Thanks for the help guys

Take it back. They should take it out for you.

Take it back to the shop. If they're reputable, they'll fix it.

Pappy, since you live in Wellington, you might have heard of them. They are European Paint and Body and are on a side street off of Okeechobee. Braman (BMW and Porsche) and Acura send their cars there at the Palm Beach Acura Dealership.

Do not ask, demand that this paint job be redone. I am an expert in automotive painting, and some one rushed to get this car out od the shop (I hope, it wasn't you).

If the fingerprint is in black, it could be when they were trying to match the paint. When I had my rear bumper replaced, I found a few finger print marks. The guy took it to the back and it was off in a minute. He told me it was the painter trying to match the paint but considering its on a new bumper...I dont know about matching the paint after all.

No, the finger print is not black and it just appeared on the bumper about 40 days later. Im taking it to European which has a satisfaction guarenteed warranty, and see if I can get it repainted. The only problem is that while they work on the bumper they scratch other parts of my car. What do u expect with no incentives these days for the workers.
