Blew away a CTSV in a 2.5 Altima
Yea right......
My friend got his CTS-V last week and I am very impressed with it. The exterior looks real good. I like what they did with the mesh on the grill and front diffuser. The brakes on the car are HUGE. Overall, it makes the CTS look real mean. The interior is improved too with some minor touches. The G senor on the instrument cluster is a real neat feature. My friend already pulled .8 g's You can play DVD movies in the Navi system when the car is parked, which is kinda cool. The car has 300 miles on it, so next week I will let you guys know the most important thing, how the car drives.

Not too many customer car photos floating around, but this guy took a few shots of his after installing a spoiler.
Nice car, the price is very fair as well.....assuming you can get one for MSRP.
Rear brakes are funny, they're huge.

M3 can be had for about the same price. the CTS-V still lost in comparison to the M3 and M5 in a shootout bewtween the 3 cars.
I am not knocking it though, good job Cadillac.

I personally would have a hard time choosing a car like this. I wouldnt be able to pass up the LS6, but love the M3 interior.
BTW....Every night I come home from the gym my friend follows me home in the V. My car is in the shop and I have an Altima, so I nail it and try to mess with him. I wanna see him get on it, but he has some major restraint.

I really like the CTS-V... For those of you that say it looks horrible, it really does look much better in person. The changes made to the CTS-V over the regular CTS are subtle but make the car look much better.
I'd take this over an S4 or C32 any day of the week. Taking it over an M3 would be a more difficult decision though

Cant wait to see them RUN. Did they test 1/4 mile. I would think it would be somewhere in the 12s? I will know soon. A few guys on the z06 boards are buying it for a Daily driver, and taking it straight to the track.

I would think it should trap higher too. We'll see....

hmm interesting comparison
i think both m3 and the ctsV are equivalent in terms of performance for all but the 1% of people that xcross their cars etc, but id still get an m3 if only for the beauty....the ctsV isnt ugly, but an m3 is an m3...presence incarnate

For comparison purposes the E39 M5 (which is a bigger car of course) has a 4024 curb weight.

I heard somewhere it was 36xx.
But, I couldve sworn it was 34xx.

I dont think this car competes with any of the cars mentioned really. If youre in the market for a German performance sedan, you wont even be looking at this car. I give GM credit for stuffing a monster motor in this size car and apparently getting the chassis fairly close. They are never going to copy an M or an AMG for pure handling prowess, so they've done exactly what they are decent at, big power and decent chassis at a fairly reasonable price, and did it pretty well for a first try, from all the reviews.
