Black Rubber Piece In Clutch Reservoir
Just had to refill my clutch fluid as it was very low and the pedal travel was very little. The black rubber piece with the white plastic top was fully extended when I opened the reservoir. I assume this should be folded up rather than fully extended to where it takes up most of the room in the reservoir, displacing most of the fluid when filled and overflowing the cylinder?

Went back and took another look. Popped it back into itself. Must have had the suction pull it out with the reservoir almost empty. All good now.

This is the clutch, not the brakes. Same fluid, different reservoir.
Replaced all 4 brake pads in the past year so they should be good for quite a while.

If there's no leak then the master cylinder is worn out. You will need to replace it soon. Preferably on your terms and not stuck on the side of the road somewhere.
