Black Leather sucks!

Well, it was 106 yesterday and after having my car sit in the direct sunlight for 8 hours, I got in and experienced the leg hair burning sensation of 120 degree seats... OUCH!!!

Every car I have owned has had leather, but this is the first with black leather. I can't wait until it is 112!

Time for tint/good sunshade.

Forgot how hot Roseville gets. Doesn't get that hot here but I'm sure I will experience the 120 seats as well sooner or later.

I have to keep a small bath towel in the car to cover my seat and remove it when I get in the car. Saves me from 3rd degree burns.

I've always had cars with cloth seats before so leather is new to me.

Not just leg hair, it's skin too. Don't forget about the steering wheel.

But hey, at least here in Cali we don't have to worry about snow drifts in 6 months... for that matter we don't have to worry about them ever.

My windows are tinted so I guess I just need a sun shade... My problem is, I usually find myself in a hurry and I'm too damn lazy to put up the shade... Besides I think they kind of look tacky when they are stored. Of course, cracked plastic and leather looks a lot tackier!

Ash..........assuming you have the S with perforated seats. Be glad they're not solid. My RX-7 had black leather and it got a LOT hotter than my CL-S since it didn't breathe. No fun to wear shorts. At least with this car I can do shorts without the back of my legs getting all sweaty. You'll just have to use the windowshade and leave the sunroof tilted open with the roof shade almost completely drawn.....ventilation + shade = cooler interior = happy owner!

Get some good reflective window shields.

There were a number of occasions on the previous year, when I had the car sitting out all day in the North San Fernando Valley in 115 degree heat. I only had the "plain" windscreens, and the light, heat, and radiation was enough to make holding the steering wheel impossible -- I carried a bottle of water and a towel to cool it down.

You can get the reflective/silver screens for front and back, with some tint on the side windows, you should be quite comfortable (unless your moving to Death Valley for the summer [130+ in the shade -- been there, done that]).

(And that's why I didn't buy a nice looking black car...)

somebody had to say it!!

You need to just keep a bath towel in your car. I keep two in the trunk for just that reason. And you're seats were more like 160 degrees if it was that hot outside.

tint & sunshade.

I usually tilt my sunroof, but dont draw back the black cloth thingie...it's too easy for people to reach in and unlock my car doors, and steal shit from my car.
