gah, a search would have revealed these answers.

theres a place called King Motorsports (i believe they are in FL or GA) that bores our throttle body and replaces the plate (the most important part). though im sure a good machine shop/performance shop can do it.

You don't lose HP, regardless of NA or FI.

Is it worth doing if we keep the vsa module? Because i called king and they told me it wasn't worth doing unless i also did the vsa but they said they wouldn't do it!

Yeah, they are right. What's the point of boring out the secondary throttle body when you are keeping the primary the same size? You're not going to increase the overall volume of airflow.

just leave the TSC valve connected to it's harness and leave it in the engine bay but not inline from the intake to the TB or....take it out altogether and add a set of resistors that tell the ECU it's still there...

I had King Motor Sports (by the way they are located in Michigan) bore out both my primary and secondary throttle bodies. No real difference in performance, so save your money for something like the UR crank pulley or icebox.

i had King bore my TB and i took out my TCS valve and P&P/ my upper aND lower intake manifold and did notice performance improvement....mine is based on track times...on what do you base your claim, and BTW i sent my throttle body to King motorsports ulimited and they are in wisconsin

Your car=not a normal CL-S motor. Can't compare apples to oranges.

You also did the manifolds, not just the throttle bodies.

You are correct, King Motor Sports in located in Wisconsin. I knew it was one of those cold snowy northern states.

I had a dyno done before and after they bored out both primary and secondary TB. There was no notable increase in the dyno pulls. The speed shop then installed the lightweight underdrive crank pulley. With the UR pulley, it gained ~ 7 whp.

I paid $300 to have both bored out. Not worth the money. But then again, neither was the $600 Unichip I bought. Unichip only gained about 3 whp after a custom tune.

anyone know where i can find a tube to fill in that gap between the icebox tube and the tb after taking out the vsa tb? i dont feel like paying $50 to have comptech ship out the 6pd version of that middle tube. went to home depot...all their abs plastic tubes are way too big or too small.

boring out your TB is useless because the inlet of the IM it connects to is still smaller. kind of like connecting 3 inch pipe to 2 inch pipe. If you want to do this, you should P&P your IM as well. TypeR did this and this is why he noticed a gain. It will help a regular 3.2 with I/H just as long as you have everything bigger and capable of flowing more air (more volume). I dont know about you guys, but i would never remove the VSA. It will help you one day and if you dont have it, well then....

at minimum you'd want to port match the TB inlet and removing the TCS valve for track day is easy enough, and i got about 8 on my UNI chip...
