BIG and FAT!

BIG and FAT!
Hey guys...need your help again...
I am interested in buying new wheels/tires.
Toyos for tires, and wheels im undecided.
I wanted to ask you...what the limit our car (CL-S) will hold. I am interested in an 18x8, but am unsure if it will fit, please let me know if i can do this. If not, tell me what the biggest rim next to 18X8 our car can handle. Next, i love thick meaty tires. If i get 18x8 wheels, what size toyo proxys should I get...Im bad at all this tire offset stuff, so i can really use your help. And another thing, someone here said that if you change the springs, your tires will get eaten faster than a fat lady with some doughnuts. If so, is there any way to stop this, how much is it, and what does it do (replacing toyos every year is a lot of money). Thanks for your help guys.

You could fit the 18x8 with a +45 or +48 offset with minimal lowering.
(I just don't know how low you can go with the wider wheel and tire -- haven't done that.)
TOYO makes T1S proxies in 225/40ZR18-92W* and 235/40ZR18-95W* sizes. The 225 is about 1.5% fast and the 235 is .24% fast. (Both are close enough that they will work)
The 235 will make for a tighter fit, but will match up well with the 8" rim. The 225 will sneak in better if your going to do some really nasty lowering.

BTW -- the tires with the * next to them are reinforced, so they handle 50lbs of pressure and are really strong.
