Most SUV's are sloths in the slalom compared to wagons.

So if you're not going to take them off-road there's no point buying one other than your penis is too small to be seen in a Volvo V70R or Audi RS6 Avant.

For true truck capability I'd say toyota are the best.

But if you're going to drive an X5, you're just a poser since a WRX wagon holds more cargo and handles better.

SUV Drives Off Roof Of Building, Injuring Two

POSTED: 7:50 a.m. EST November 3, 2003
UPDATED: 1:50 p.m. EST November 3, 2003

NEW YORK -- Two people were hurt when the SUV they were riding in drove in reverse off the roof of an Upper Manhattan building, police said.

The Ford Explorer fell one story from the U-Haul facility, landing below at West 132nd Street and Broadway just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Two passengers, a man and a woman, were hurt, police said. The woman was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in serious condition, and the man went to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police said the driver and another passenger were not hurt. No arrests were made and no summonses were issued, according to Officer Jennara Everleth, a police spokeswoman.

I know all you guy care about flash and looks. But I've driven all of the full-size SUVs...Escalade, Navigator, Yukon, Suburban, Tahoe, Nissan Armada.......and they all drive like crap. It feels you are navigating some big boat around.

Only full-size SUV I'd drive is the Toyota Sequoia. It feels MUCH smaller than it really is. Glad to see Toyota spent more time with how it handles. The Limited is nice, but of course doesn't have the recognition of an Escalade which I could care less. So if you carry a lot of people, etc this is a good choice. Reliablity ratings are excellent.

Lots of posts on the Armada. Nice, but handling is no good.

Everyone has different opinion and different preference. There is no right or wrong about liking any vehicle. I always thought who would buy PT Cruiser and Astek but I still see them on street once in a while. No matter how stupid you think a car is, somebody would like it and actually pay to own it. I guess it is okay, and that is why I feel like going to auto show everyday when I drive outside. I don't know if Cayenne could really go off-road or not, and I don't care because I will never drive an expensive car on gritty rocky place. I picked it as my first choice simply because I like its look and I know it could go fast. True, it can never be as fast as other Porsche sports car, but those cars are not as practical as Cayenne also. If I have only $80k and I only want one car, I would definitely 100% sure buy a Cayenne Turbo instead of a 911 Carrera 4S. Outside styling is super important to me, in my opinion there is no other SUV better looking than Lexus RX330 right now, so I picked it as second choice, plus, it is one of the most comfortable SUVs out there, really drives like a car. It outsold BMW 3-series whole lineup in August, I think. Besides these two, I pretty much don't care about other SUVs, except Nissan Armada.

not like this really compares to SUV's, but some guy at work just got a quad cab, F-150 2004, leather, and all the options. I am very impressed. On the inside its not even a truck it seems like. The outside is very nice, the look is much more rugged, i like it. Stock 18's, V8, and nice inside. Would be a nice addition to someone who wanted a versatile pick-up truck

The MDX is awesome except in two areas: power and style.

Dont get me wrong. It's performance is more than adequate with 0-60 times in the mid-low 8s and 1/4 mile times mid-low 16s but the Infiniti FX35 beats those numbers then adds handling into the equation. It's truly the RL of SUVs.

As for style, I admit it's subjective but, the MDX resembles a minivan (for an obvious reason, it's based on the Odyssey) so its pretty conservative looking.

Couple that with the fact that the most popular SUV have a V8 engine option. Maybe Honda will offer a detuned version of the new NSX's V8 motor for the 2G MDX.

Peace.

I HATE SUVs.

Not so much for the wastefulness alone...but because they make no engineering/design sense. They're fad vehicles designed by marketing and bean counters. They are rolling oxymorons...but I guess purchasing a design that makes no sense is now a symbol of status (amongst the ignorant).

"I'll have your finest 1970's german designed military jeep retrofitted with leather seats, neon logos in the sill plate and a glossy paint job.... thank you" - A satisfied G500 customer once said.

"Cayenne turbo is a really fast brick, with great handling for a brick."

"The H2 is a chevy silverado 1500 in a halloween costume"

I guess when you only care about displaying wealth, bigger is better. I'm more of a "form-follows-function" kind of guy.

I'm more of a "form-follows-function" kind of guy.

Then what other vehicle do I use for myself? I need 1 vehicle that can tow, carry 7 or 8 passengers at a time (large family) or have the room without seats to carry the occasional cargo. You're right, it will not go off-road.

The mid and full size SUVs will do the trick. I prefer the Toyota Sequoia for these jobs. 4Runner and RX300, RX330 have the best reliability!

Friend told me there is a design flaw in the fx45, premature wear on the drive belts. have to change them like every 15-20 k. Hope they fix it.

Someone racked up that many miles on the FX45 already? Anyway, if Infiniti is footing the bill, I'd still get it.

Well I know the standard timing belt is also every 60k. It a bit earlier than our acura/hondas 90k. I guess if u got the $$ to get an FX45 you can afford to maintain it like the H2 etc etc blah blah blah.

Pathfinder is overall a better SUV out of the ones you listed.

Compared to the 4-runner, the path handles better, but also isn't as big. It is a bit quicker as well and more agile should I say off-road.

Who cares if there fast. If you want fast, buy a sports car.
Same goes for the Pathfinder. Pathfinder has always been the king off off-road, and now the Xterra.

My dad is now a proud owner of an '04 XL Denali and I doubt he's gonna go back to the regular GM trucks (Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, XL)

Range Rover is underpowered as hell. But they will tackle offroad like no other, I'll give you that. Then again, it's owned by Ford, and I despise Ford.
Tahoe/Yukon and the Denali are the same thing as teh Escalade. The frame, suspension, interior, is all the same except a few minor details were changed.

The H2 is just a Tahoe as well.

I went from my CL-S to a AUDI A4 to now a Nissan Pathfinder. I drove the MDX, RX300 (we owned one), Murano, FX35, 4runner. And the Pathfinder fit the pocket and the truck department better than any.

Reason I got it was because it still had the old feel of Nissan in it, it has the VQ, it is STILL built on a truck platform not a minivan platform or car like alot of these new SUVs are (mdx, rx300, toyotas squelio (however you spell it)).

Here is mine, a few pictures. It is a real suv, rwd and a truck frame and suspension.

I went to the Lexus Redefined event where we drove 43+ SUVs on road but more importantly off. The only REAL SUVs there were the LX 470, GX 470, Range Rover, Land Rover. The Escalade, besides being a POS inside (along with all the other GM products) had to have a seperate route b/c it was INCAPABLE of going off-road. The X5 really surprised me, it was great, rode off-road fine with the 16" wheels.

U need 4WD man to be a SUV. Right?

RX 330 is built off a car, MDX built off a van, FX built off a car, are not real SUVs (another SUVs like them).

Ummm I suggest you look again.

Per all the tests, why do they still say its not a full size truck or SUV then? It's still smaller? Toyota never made it with the full size segment and Nissan just did?

I see the Tahoe bigger is most of the areas below. And the Armada speaks for itself.

Volkswagen neither

Navigator is a suv, but too big to have fun in really.

Per all the tests, why do they still say its not a full size truck or SUV then? It's still smaller? Toyota never made it with the full size segment and Nissan just did?

I see the Tahoe bigger is most of the areas below. And the Armada speaks for itself.

What are you really trying to show? So the Tahoe beats out in some areas by a whopping 1 inch and the SQ beats it in other areas by a whopping 1 inch. The SQ has more ground clearance and definitely more cargo capacity. The SQ IS a full-size SUV. Not like a damn Suburban or Yukon XL but it fits into the full-size category.

Well like I said in my other post, last I heard the Tundra wasn't a full-size truck, and Nissan didn't make that mistake. But was unaware the new SQ was a full-size suv. So that is good.
