i got aem cold air intake, and alpha werks headers coming.

Question is what speeds are the fastest for the Cl to beat cars that it really shouldnt. I want to race my friends WRX with intake and exhaust and want to see if I could compete.

The best things Ive noticed for the cl was a first gear roll at 5, and another good starting point is dropping it into 2nd at 55mph as it starts at vtec pulls all the way through and then gets in 3rd gear, any other good starting points?

 

i think around 20 mph so you can dip into 1st and then go through second ending with vtec to 3rd. or 3rd to 2nd like you said.

 

I agree, but if you know you're going to race, switch to gate shifting and hold it in first. The auto takes a long time to downshift to 1st and if you aren't paying attention to your speed to could accidentally be going too fast for the car to downshift at all and you'll have a difficult time catching up.

 

I love running people from a 20 punch. I've made alot of kills going from there.

 

you will get him from 20 mph. like people said gate shift from first shift like 200-300 rpm before red line. you'll be good

 

first gear any where from like 10-30 mph

2nd, 45-55 mph

3rd 75-84ish, anything over that and ur gonna catch 4th and wont hit vtec till 120

 

i got aem cai and aw headers and 2nd @ 50 is a gnarly sweet spot.... also 1st @ 10mph i think works if u get on it hard enough...... of course 3rd @ 80.......

what year wrx? u can do it w/ the headers from a roll!

 

Note how fast you're going in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears when you hit the vtec engagement point @ 4800 on the tach. That will be the best place to go from period.

It's when you actually shift from 1 to 2 to 3 and so on.


Look at the gear shift lever.

Move it all the way to the bottom instead of stoppong at D5.
