best option for replacing interior cooling fan

My interior fan in my CL rattles around at certain times depending on the angle of the vehicle and it annoys the hell out of me. I need to replace it but i need to know a couple things.

1- does the brand I replace it with really matter? (i.e is it going to be more reliable and or quieter from the DLR?)

2- how the hell do I extract it from the car... it's behind the glove box correct?

Any input would be greatly appreciated... thankSS

go oem with the fan. its in back of the glove box. take the glove box out and then unscrew it. or u can get it out from the bottom but thats more of a hassle

interior cooling fan???

Do you mean the blower motor/fan?
If so go with OEM.

Can you take pics when you do this because I was thinking of modding to something with a lot more air movement and not as loud . It would be totally custom so I would like to see if I can do it with out taking my dash apart and finding out it cant be done. thanks

OEM as in from the dlr??? it's like $300!!!!

Ebay has it for 100 shipped to my door exact same specs and connections. So it's OEM equivalent. just not paying through the ass.

My question is... is there a difference between the 2 reliability/noise etc?

I'm definately not modifying this portion of the car.. it'd be a waste of time in my eyes.. I just neeed the rattle GONE!

MrFluffy I'll take some pics for that, and keep this thread alive.. It may be in a couple weeks in all fairness once I get more $. But it's next on my list for reall... when the hot summer days come (if they do) and i'm blasting the a/c i don't want that crap messing up the CL VIBE lol. I've been on a good pace of mods since I bought my cl in april. Have no worries..

If you have no problems but some noise I wouldn't replace it. Pull it out & inspect it. Maybe something is loose, or there's debris in the housing causing the noises.

Trust me from experience on other cars. You don't want to be messing with the blower motor/fan when it's not needed.

And MrFluffy why would you want more airflow? The stock system flow is just fine. If yours is lacking you may have another problem. If you did increase the flow you would increase teh noise.

I was thinking of increasing the air flow Not by replacing the fan gut by adding another one after the fact. Because I have some extra fans lying around and I am bored

Fuzzy if it was -40c you would want more air flow too especially to my hands and face trust me LOL I find it blows OK but I want it to be crazy for the winter
