Best money I ever spent

I just finished putting in my AEM CAI. Damn, that sound is intoxicating. Installation was pretty much straight forward, except for all the adjustments which were a pain in the ass. I put a little piece of rubber over a screw that was real close to the pipe (just before the bend where the K&N filter attaches), but other than that I didn't deviate from the CAI faqs that I printed out.

No pics... You've all seen it before. :P

Thanks to those that had answered my previous questions about the CAI installation.

Hmmm... What should be the next mod on the list??? I need some 18's damn it.

It's certainly audible in the VTEC range, and it sounds so damn good. It just sounds 'mean'... Not sure how to explain it. A rumbling roar...

Is it a straight forward removal of aircleaner and install of CAI.

On the Accord, I never did it as removal of the resonator box seems to be such a pain in the ass.

Does the CL-S also have a resonator box that has to be removed??

Yes, there is a resonator box. BUT... I'm telling you, it's cake. My Dad and I had the stock airbox and resonator out in under 10 minutes. If you have the right tools... If not, you'd have to take out the battery. Add another 3-5 minutes, max!

The hardest part was getting everything to fit right.

We have mechanical talent, which is a plus. But it's really not a big deal at all.

I would say...CAI is nice, but Nitto Tires and Sway bars the best buy!

You use the CAI on the drag strip and the once or twice each week... However, you use the sticky tires and Swaybars each minute and each time you take a corner....

Oh my....

Just got back from dinner with the wife and a couple of friends. Took the expressway to and from, and well... The 20 miles I put on the car, I'd have to say quite a bit of it was spent in VTEC. Took my 'Blue Beauty' up to 105, no problem. And that sound... I think I'm in love.

Honda likes to use 10mm bolts. If you have a good socket set (a long ass extension is a must), flathead screwdriver, flashlight, bandsaw or hacksaw for the bypass, CLEAN blanket to hang over front quater-panel so you don't scratch the paint, and a bit of patience.

That's about it really. My Dad and I worked on it together and start-to-finish, it took us 1.5 hours and 20 minutes of that was spent by him reading directions and gathering all the tools that we would need. If we didn't have to cut the pipe for the bypass, we would have been done in under an hour.

This is where I'm totally clueless. I'd like rims and tires, but I'll probably hold off on them for a bit. I'm taking a nice vacation with the wife, and well... That's where my tire money went. And I know NOTHING about a 'swaybar'. How much, where can I get it, and what's the benifit?

No where close... The Aegean is much daker than the CAI. It doesn't look bad at all though, as when the hood is open, you can see the 'AEM' badge and the blue pipe certainly stands out. I like it!

Alright guys, You've convinced me. I'm going to do it. I had a CAI on my old accord but I have been cautious about putting one on the CL...but I just miss it so much, and that's it. I've just bought one in polished silver.

I too will soon reap the benefits of the 4750-6250 growl!

Sway bars (actually anti-sway bars) are made by Comptech Motorsports ($325). They come as a set of two (front and rear) and prevent excessive body roll in hard turns. It also changes the feel of the steering (for the better IMO.) Definitely the best bang for the buck mod in the handling department. Combined with springs, the CL-S handles like a dream for a luxury sports coupe.
