Wanted to know what type of tint and % everyone thinks looks best on a Black CL?

Also, I live in the Northern Virginia Area and am looking to get some tint put on my windows, anyone know of some good local shops?

 

Also, if anyone has some pictures of some window tints on a Black CL they would be appreciated. Please identify the tinit information though. Thanks!

 

On a black car, the dark black tint is better. The titanium is too reflective for a dark car but looks excellent on a lighter car.

Unfortunately, we are limited in Virginia as to the % tint we can get....Never move here.

If you have a spoiler, get the 3rd brake light on the rear deck tinted over. It looks cleaner.

 

I have 15%. It looks great on silver. However on black the dark the better. I thought limo tint was 5%. At least it is in my area.

actually limo tint is 5%

zero percent would mean 0% sunlight will pass through, hence it would just be straight black and not tint at all

 

You can go to either la tint in alexandria where honeycl go her's done, or cali tint in tysons where I got mine done. Mine's a little darker. and her's is a slight green shade.

for a black car, black tint looks the best imo. i have a black cl and i plan on getting tint too, but not sure about what percentage because it might affect my driving at night. good luck

with my limo tints, it is impossible to see out at night. I have trouble backing out of parking lot so i always roll down the windows so i can see the mirrors. That's how dark it is at night.

VA sucks. It's 50 side and 35 back...

i got mine done at cali tint in tysons, 20% all around, they did it for $180 cash only cuz its illegal...i also have a black CL and the black tint looks awesome....call htme first to get a quote before u go in or they will try to charge u more when u get there, thats what they tried to pull on me, but i called 3 times and made sure it was $180....they wont tint the dot matrix above ur rear window though....i dont have any pics of my car w/tint, sorry...good luck....fuck VA! gay ass tinitng laws and front license plates and no radar detectors....

 

Thanks for the advice, sounds like a reputable tint shop, the kind I like. Have you had any problems with cops and tickets for to dark a tint?

 

so far no probs w/the popo...i got caught once a few years ago, but that was in my accord and the cop was a genuine dick head....he must have been pms'ing that day cuz he threatened to pull me over a 2nd time if he saw me again.....if u're really worried about popo, then get the legal limit....but if are more worried bout how ur car will look, get the darker tint...20% is good for me, i can still see out the windows at nite....35% is too lite for me...5% is way too dark....also, make sure they use black metallic tint, it has a minor reflection to it...i think my tint was onyx or some shit....

 

Anyone have any pictures of their tint going over the dot matrix in the back window? Also, any pictures of tint not covering the dot matrix?

Opinions, in Virginia, the tint laws are 35% and 50%, should I get the different tints or get 50% all around?

I have 35% all around on my black cls and I drive through VA often and never have been pulled over. I think if you are a ricer (loud noise exhaust) or your car is too flashy cops will find any good excuse to pull you over with tints below the legal limit. I have always had illegal tints on my cars, however, I never got pulled over. I think if cops have nothing to do, is when they will actually say something....

Go ahead and get the same tint all around. Lighter color cars, look tacky IMO with different shades of tint all over the windows.
