Im interested in exhaust, not the full system though. What is the best overall? i love the look of the HKS but how does it sound? my friend also told me to look into the hyper medalion. Any info would be appreciated. thanks

I ended up getting the Comptech exhausts. I was originally supposed to get the HKS through a group buy on here, but I had unexpected bills pop up (more like forgotten bills ), only to be surprised by my fiance with the Comptech's. I love them. They're a little bit smaller then the HKS, which I like. The sound isn't as loud as the HKS, but I like that too. The Comptechs give a perfect growl.... really makes it sound like the car has 260+hp now. It's also nice b/c it's a deep growl, not a whine like some of the "ricer" exhausts. Here's a link to a sound clip with Comptechs and a CAI. There was one on here for the HKS', but I don't think it is still working.....

I've heard teh HKs, and I dont think its loud at all.

 

no, not too loud... but a little tiny bit louder then the Comptechs.....

 

did you guys do a side by side comparrison of HKS vs Comptech? We did it hear in chicago (with both cars having the same mods), and the Comptech's were LOUDER then the HKS, we tested it a few times....and everyone agreed that the comptech was louder.

Seems like inside would be more important since you're going to have to listen to that most of the time..

 

Comptech now offers inserts that will slightly lower the volume of their exhaust. I LOVE the sound of the Comptech now that I've gotten used to them!!

 

I compared my Dragers to Bobowah and TypeSDragoon's Comptechs and I have to say that the HKS are QUIET compared to the Comptech Exhaust, inside and outside.

 

no doubt..I dont know why everyone assumes the comptechs are the quietest....

 

We compared, both the outside, and inside. I think we even took a movie of Synth taking off. Pretty cool.

 

I'm only going based off of sound clips from this board and the TL board... never in person. Doesn't matter to me though.. I love the Comptechs, both inside and out. I actually don't think it's that loud inside and I do a lot of low RPM cruising.... oh well, maybe I'm just not as picky as other people.....

 

Get your headers and then compare again.

 

I vote comptech, then again i'm kinda partial to them.
