Best 1/4 time for stock CL-S (or TL-S)

my ground rules:

No mods, be they power or suspension.
A switch to non-drag radial street tires, OK.
Lowering/raising tire pressures OK.
Jack/spare only weight reduction allowed.

Just trying to see who out there has whittled down the most hundredths.

What if the driver goes on a diet? Or takes a big poop before the race?

I think someone must have hit a 14.8 or 14.7 with the right track conditions....the funny thing about the CL is that it is so damn consistent in the power it puts to the ground...I think it's the freakin ECU.

I saw tankmonkey runa 14.8x, and he didn't adjust tire press or anything. I'm thinking with enough tinkering, a 14.6 is possible.

Dang, how do you guys get down to the 14's? Must be the cold air up there in the States . Here in Honolulu, my best time is 15.039, stock, with Temp 75 deg and humidity 60%. Tire pressures, 32 PSI. Nothing was removed.

After addition of headers/suspension/and Toyos, time was 15.008....WTF!!!!! Conditions were similar, temp slightly higher at 78 deg.

Drop your tire pressure to 23-25PSI, you'll get a better 60' time which'll get you into the 14s.

Is this how most of the CL's are achieving their 14's time? I figured with the headers, it should have brought my time down further without resorting to running "flat".

Check for exhaust leaks man. With headers you should definitely be in 14s.

i ran a 15.02 with just comptech exhaust ( no gains in that ) , BALD stock tires, and about 150 pounds of extra shit in my trunk plus it was my first time and i didn't know how to launch.

so i basically could have gotten in the 14's EASY.

the next time at the track, i'm hoping for alot better since now i have intake, wheels, tires, exhaust, take 150 pounds of shit outta trunk, and the experience in how to take off correctly.

i'm actually shooting for a 14.5-14.65 when i learn the takeoff

So no one here has run in the 14.7s stock?

I might have to convince tankmonkey to let me drive his car and try myself. I'm pretty sure it's possible.

I try and ignore most of the magazine times. Skilled driving at the track can yield far better times than those clowns.
