Before I Tint

My CL has me roasting when there is even just a hint of sun out. It's black on black and can get VERY hot. It doesn't have any tinting. My only reason for tinting is cut down on the interior temp when it sits outside. Does tinting really make a difference? I leave the windows cracked and close the sunroof cover whenever its warm out. I just want to preserve the interior and keep my butt from being burned.
Thanks

Yes, it makes a difference. Especially when you are driving. If you park in direct sunlight, it's not going to stop the inside from getting hot, but once the AC starts working it will keep cooler than a car without tint. It also looks better with tint.

Tint keeps it slightly cooler inside if you leave the windows cracked. Looks 100% better and if you get good tint it should have enough UV protection to keep your seats from fading and/or cracking.

My cars sits ourside ~9hrs a day while im at work and in the heat of summer with my 35% tint and windsheild shade I can hope right in and go after work. The A/C can cool it down in a couple minutes. The windshild shade is a must if you want to reduce interior heat

It makes a difference to me. My car stayed parked all day saturday in the saturday. I finally started the car on Sunday evening and it was pretty hot, but after I got the car moving, everything was fine. I got 20% all around, and 35% entire windshield.

Yeah, i agree it would look better with tint. I am afraid of the back window having problems. I mean i probably won't take it off but who knows. Has anyone seen those little fans that run on solar power and clip on a car window and constantly move the air? I think it works when the window is all the way up or cracked. I wonder if it works?

an old coworker of mine had the fan, but it was mounted on the rear deck...not sure how it worked, but his car was always pretty cool.

tint DOES keep the car and interior cooler though. i have black interior and it used to burn me after seeing an hour of miami heat.

i then added 35% titanium tint all around and 50% on the WHOLE winshield...all the way down. my car does not get nearly as hot as when i didnt have tint. i think my grade of titanium blocks like 85% of UV and 60% heat (something like that).

my car sits in the sun all day long at work, and when i get into it, it's not very hot.

tilting the sunroof helps as well...

Yes window tint will keep it cooler! If temp is your main concern be sure to get the specs on the "Heat rejection" from the tint manufacturer. I use madicco on my installs and most of our films have around 79% heat rejection. Don't be concerned with UV protection or light transmission if you are looking to keep the car cooler. "Heat rejection" is the topic.

Another way to keep your car cooler is to get a windshield cover/reflector and put it in the windshield during the day. This, tint and cracking your windows will keep the car sooooo much cooler.

If you don't want to use a windshield dealy, then park your car (once you have tint) with the rear window facing the heaviest sun. If you have window tint and park your car facing the sun, the direct sunlight will blast staright through the windshield defeating the purpose of the tint.

Hope this helps keeping your car cooler.

Oh I forgot....Metalised film reject more heat but can causeradio disturbance. It can mess with your Navi and keep you from gettin some am stations. It may have a minor affect on FM also.

Tinting the sunroof does help!

I paid $200 for my sides and rear window. I had an online coupon which deducted $20, and since I paid in cash, they reduced it another $20. So, I would assume $240 would be a fair price. I got 13% tint.
