I'm planning on getting 5 windows tinted. I live and sf, and called up a shop and they quoted me, $300 using DTI tint. Im also not sure about their quality.

Does anyone recommend a shop that would do a quality tint job, and maybe for a bit less? thanks

 

ok. so i find another shop to do the tints. $225 for all five. so i bring it in friday, and i take all the panels out for them [i dont trust shops anymore].
todays monday, and theres bubbles everywhere. he seems like a pro at it, but damn, i dont think he cleaned the windows that well. im going to take it in tomorrow to get it redone.

Mr Tint in Redwood city is really good, but a bit expensive. I got my Honda civic tinted in 1995, and it still has no bubble yet

btw the cops in bay area are d*cks, I was ticket 3 times by SF police, twice by Fremont, twice by Mtn View police, once by Palo Alto police, once by Los Altos..

Fremont police will be mailling me another one.. I have my Civic and Neon tinited (all windows except the front windshield).. CLS is not.

 

There is a really good tint shop in Fremont too.. but forgot its name. it is near automall if you know where is automall

 

california sunscreen in san leandro. you can actually see it off 880 north bound on the levitz side. ask for sidney lee. they do a very clean job.

Bay car is shady as fuck!!!don't go there.

When I had my accord tinted there like four years ago they told me it would be done in a day. They never called me so I called them at the end of the day and they said they never got to it. I picked my car up the next day late afternoon. My friend said he saw them driving my car around with the music blaring during the day. I was so fucking pissed.

 

at bay car stereo, i tried to get a better deal if i took out the panels myself in the CL. the guy said, $250. then i asked if they'ed do it even cheaper if i brought in another car, and my friends car. price stayed the same, so i went else where.

 

I know it is a bit far, but Rocky Mountain Window Tint in Livermore is really good. My other car was tinted by them about five years ago and it still looks like they put the tint on yesterday. I had them do my new car also about six months ago. No problems there either.

 

You should try going to Rocky Mountain Tint in Livermore. I had my CLS tinted since 2001. I can't find one bubble. The guy (forgot his name) used a piece of vinyl to cover the upper bubbles on the rear window. It looks just like the factory black trim on the window. Very good work.

 

i think i'll try rocky mountain tint with the next car. how much do they charge? do they do metalic tints?

bay car stereo allegedly makes copies of keys in order to later steal items..., i had my car tinted there and it took them nearly 5 days to do it, messed up 3 times, on 4 windows each..

 

not to mention the door things i got back, since they work in a small area

 

my friend got his '91 4 door civic tinted there. they messed up on the back windows. well, if they do make keys, they'll probably be around to take his deck and um...ash tray?!? lol

dammit!! after looking at the cl with the tints in the sun. i could see little specs of dust trapped underneath the tint. has anyone had these problems? would they get worse in the long run?

 

Bay Car USED to be corrupt, but nothing beats the tint job that they do. If they pull that shit, then you tried to hassle with them too much. Don't like the Bay Car in SF, go to the one in mountain view. The dude who runs that one is really nice. Hell, he sold me a 5 farad cap for like 200!
