Does anyone know the different ballasts we can use for our headlights? I've been told there are a few different brands that will work... I also see like 3 of them on eBay but they are for 2nd gen TL and I have an 02 CL. I really don't want to pay 3 or 4 hundred bucks for one from Acura... does anyone know what the different options are? Thanks!

 

why do you want new ballasts?

 

my passenger side ballast blew out and blew the bulb out with it, so I have to buy one to replace it. The Acura dealer wants like 450 just for the ballast and another 170 for 1 bulb, so I just figured I would buy a new ballast and a new set of bulbs.

 

I could be wrong but I'd be willing to bet the CL takes the same ballast as the TL. I'd say, buy the one on ebay and if it doesn't work, just re-list it on ebay.... or here in the B/M. It's worth a shot.

 

I have to agree with Lord H. I would hate to think that Honda used different ballast for both the CL/TL being they use most of the same parts for everything else.

Would an aftermarket kit be a possibility? Seems like that would be cheaper, but I don't know about durability.

 

The Ballast on the TL are DIFFERENT from the ones on the CL. $450 from Acura?

 

Do you know what the differences are in the 2? I found one that says it is for CL/TL so I'm hoping it will work.

 

They bolt on differently. You can still use them but you'll have to zip tie them.
