Bad week for the CL

Brought my car in for service Wednesday to have them fix my clock light. Figured I'd get the oil changed while I'm there. An hour later they tell me my car is ready, but unfortunately they didn't have the clock bulb in stock so I'd need to return to get that fixed. Funny, as I was driving to the dealer that morning I was thinking that I should have asked if they had a bulb in stock before I wasted a trip to the dealer. Oh well... So I pay for the oil change and head out to my car. When I hope in I notice that my console above the HVAC controls, where that little draw is located, is all scratched up. Then I notice that the brushed aluminum trim piece on the driver side of the console is all gouged! I won't bother you with more detail, but needless to say I lost it at the dealership, and they agreed that they will replace all of the damaged parts.

So here it is Friday, and I'm heading into work. I go to make a right turn as I'm slowing down and my power steering fails. At first I thought the car stalled, but it didn't. As I accelerate the steering is fine again. Turns out that every time I stop, I lose my power steering. I get to work, pop the hood, and check the fluid and belt. All seems to be fine. So now I'm bummed. I call the dealership when I get into the office to tell them about my steering, and that I'll need a loaner car after all when I bring my car in for the damage and clock light repairs next Wednesday (I was just going to wait). The service director has been pretty cool through all this and asked me if I can wait until Wednesday, or do I need a loaner now that can be used for several days. I told him that I'll see how bad it is on my way home, and if it's bad I'll come in tomorrow to drop off my 03 CL and pick up a loaner TL.

Sorry, just needed to vent a bit.

Mike

That's sucks Mike. I take my car to Sunnyside too, although I haven't had any problems, other than some paint scratches left by their car washer monkeys (thus I don't have them wash my car anymore, just vacuum). Good to hear that they're attempting to make things right.

Boooo....>Sucks, but at least they are being cool about it...Ive had small stupid issues too recently....My Chrysler held up better than my Acura - maybe its because I have an '01, but its doubtful my next vehicle will be an Acura

sorry to hear about that mike. I hope they get it fixed for you quickly. Anyhow, how many miles do you have on your car and is it an auto or MT? Would just like to know so i can keep a look out for problems like this.

Well, got my car back yesterday after 4 days with a loaner TL, and Sunnyside Acura in Nashua, NH exceeded my expections. All the damage was repaired, and looks as good as new. They also replaced the clock light , and they replaced my power steering belt (it shreded). The Service director also had my car fully detailed inside and out. I was like I was picking up a new car.

It's a shame they messed up in the first place, but at least they made everything good again. Dispite the issues, I still think they're a good dealer.
