I'm a firefighter, so I'll clarify some things in this poor guy's defense lol

Cars burn very quickly, so even if it wasnt intentionally set, it would prob have burned out like you see before the fd even got there. Even if there was no gas in it at all, it would have completely burned out.

The front isnt burned probably because the wind was blowing from that direction

The trunk is smashed up because the firefighters destroyed it trying to get it open to extinguish the rest of the fire. Same thing with the hood. (Hoods and trunks are VERY hard to forcibly open.)

The rust is from the fire. Without getting into the physics of it, fire causes things to rust at an extremely fast rate. Any metal that was in a a fire will be rusted.

If you ask me, does look somewhat suspicious since it looks like the cabin burned first, but it could just as easily been something else. Could have been electrical / cigarette / or anything. Car fires are not uncommon, even in newer cars.

Excellent reply and thank you for your response. I've seen cars go up like paper
on the road wih identical damage. I think we all feel for the guy, the sad thing any car can burn up quick no matter what the make, that's the first I've seen a CL. I wish the best for Nic. We joke but we care.

Mostly because the tires are blown out. I dont know much about suspensions, but gas struts could rupture causing it to lower. Absolutely no way the springs melted, but they may have been weakened by the heat, also causing it to sit lower. All in all, very typical damage for a car fire.

If it was truly torched I feel very badly. I agree you have to have some kind of fun with it too, to lighten the mood. Sad to see a CL torched though none the less.

I would cry if that happened to my car... seriously.

Maybe when they jacked the head unit some wires crossed and caused a spark which caused an electrical fire...

STILL NOTHING. The guy (adjuster) isn't returning any of my calls. Whatever, let's see what happens now. Whatever, I have a rental, I'm not paying for it. I have $900 of rental dough to use, they're paying for it.
