The more I think about it, if I'd had a flat I would have called AAA or someone to fix it no matter what time of day or night and would have not left it in a questional area unattended......

That's like someone owning a MB SL500 and can't AFFORD AAA/Insurance...

looking at that picture and background setting, it was a recipe for disaster. it's miami, home to scam artists, petty criminals, you name it, it's the dregs from new york down here. send me an address, i may want to drop a car off there someday . hope insurance takes care of it for you.

Well, I was selling it for $9,800. They're going to give me something like $12,000. Plus I lost my AVIC, my g/f has bought that for me about 3 months ago for $2,200 w/ XM/NAVI Traffic & the install. Anyways, I have no one pissed or mad @ me. ANOTHER thing, why would I do it RIGHT BEHIND MY SHOP & risk it catching on fire. Whatever, thanks to those who aren't accusing me of insurance fraud.

The spare tire thing sounds like a good idea...all the tools to put it on are in the trunk.

Its odd.....

well, first of all, even if it was filled with a 3/4 tank of gas, it wouldnt have exploded. Cars dont explode like that. Thats only in the movies

Second, whats up with the rust on the roof?

DEE, DEE, DEE!!!

It was on fire which causes the paint to melt (for lack or words) off of the car causing the bare metal to be exposed to heat (the fire) and water (to extinguish the fire)... In turn, fast rusting...

Hmm... Could it be because HEAT RISES???

If the flames were located inside of the car (which is why it looks weird about why it didn't come from the gas tank area) from it being set there (in the cabin), the flames would go out and up... The nose of the car is further away because of the firewall preventing the bottom of the fire to spread...
Sorry for so many post, I just realizes that I have responded to a lot of people at different times...

Backed into it. Didn't want to take a loss since he was already selling it for 9900. Therefore, meaning he was probably >100K. Unplugged the AVIC-N2 which will be on eBay sooner or later.

Seriously though, I've seen theives burn the car, when they have stripped the whole thing to the bare chasis, but not when they were going to jack a car for an AVIC N-2. Honestly, I don't believe it and I believe that he is one of the reasons why our insurance rates are so high.

Other then that, if it was someone he knew that was a "hater", what a coincidence that they knew the car was going to be BEHIND the shop on that day. I call BS.

All of you are idiots. His car gets broken into and all you can do is accuse him? I hope ALL of your cars get jacked, accused of fraud and end up going to jail.

yea i was gonna say the same thing. im not saying i think u did it, but just in case the insurance company tries to say that.

but they could just analyze the series of events cuz from what i understand you were at home, and the car was still on fire when the police showed up. itd be pretty hard to set your car on fire and make it back home like that.

He didnt have to be at home, he could have pulled a MacGyver. All he would have to do is this::
1.) Buy a magnifying glass from the local thift store.
2.) Park the car in the sun and buy 2 Bic Ball point pens.
3.) Get 4 rubber bands 4 inches long each.
4.) 3 mirrors 5 feet high.'
5.) 1 live chicken

Now if you can't figure out how he did it with those 5 simple items, then I feel bad for you. Its completely obvious how he did it.

Poor guy... A lot of us were just joking and he knew it, but then everyone started seriously accusing him of fraud...
If he did it, well, they will find out. If not, then at least he wasn't in the car when it happened!
Either way, he was just making a post on her to tell people of his loss whether true or not, we loss yet another CL in this world...
