awsome Cd player

my stock deck is a POS. It started acting retarded a while ago, having trouble changing disks. Now it won't play, it won't change disks, I can't load anything and it will not eject. It just flashes some buillshit ERE1 code. My question is, if I unplug the battery and let it reset will this help it? I've tried beating it over and over again, with no luck. If anyone has any ideas, or a 02 stock 6 disk that works please let me know. I can't stand the radio anymore.

Common. It's likely toast. Replace or go after market. Yo may be able to get the CD out by sticking something in the slot & pry it up & down, or holding the buttons repeatably.

This is an opportunity to fill that space with a nice double din aftermarket Navi system.

my CD player started acting up and I barely use it. I tried hitting it on the side but that didnt work too well.

Pull the fuse, it worked for me. Make sure you have the security code though. at least try that before you get a whole new system.

I agree with everyone else. Its an excuse to replace it with something newer, and shiny! My stock radio worked perfectly up to the day i replaced it with a double-din nav unit. never had a problem with it. Def get something new, they have come down a lot in price.

Yeah mine is starting to stick when the cd changer changes discs. If I lightly thump it on the side where the cartridge system is it will work. Mostly happens with burned cd's. But, I have the stock navigation system..is there any aftermarket Ipod or Aux adapter that works with the stock Navigation? The Isound one doesn't and the Blitzsafe one I got didn't work either (model Hon/Aux DMX v.2x) I am starting to think the double din kit and an aftermarket deck is the only solution to listen to mp3's in my car.

ha! I too had to b!tch slap it on the side to get it to read cd's. This technique worked fine up til just last week when I hit it too hard and broke the lcd readout. It still works but I can't tell what cd, track number or radio station I'm on. Oh well off to look for a double din deck.

Unplug battery cable, wait 10 minutes, replug battery cable, turn on CD player, eject all CDs... it should work.

Yeah I just don't feel like spending any money on the daily. I'll try pulling the fuse, I have the code for it. If it doesn't work I'll look into some other options. Thanks for the replies. Def going to look into the ipod adapter.

so I unplugged the battery, washed the car, hooked it back up and now it says CHECK then ERE1... it also thinks that thier is 6 disks in it when there was only 5 before I unplugged it...lol So I guess when I get a chance I'm going to rip it apart to get my disks out. Thanks for all the replys. I might just get a ghetto tape with a wire on it to plug in my I pod..like its the early 90's again....lol

r u entering the correct code?

sometimes u have to unplug the antenna, or go in some under ground parking lots where u dont have any reception, and enter the code. i have to do that on my tl-p. other than that i have no problems with the radio.

Yeah def the correct code, I've used it before when I got a new battery. The tape and radio work great, just the cd player. I'll try it again tomorrow, but I think its done.

it happened to me. you just need to disconnect the power to the radio. I remember disconnecting the fuse like 3 times before i got it to work. your CD player still works! dont trash it yet.
