Awesome gas mileage

I've been getting 28-30mpg combined over the last month or so. My drive has changed from 80 highway/20 city to 60 highway/40 city. The difference is that instead of cruising at 80-85mph on the expressway, I'm on a 55-60mph road with well timed lights every couple miles or so. I can usually set the cruise at 60-65mph and leave it there for the majority of the 35 mile 1-way drive. I also almost never run the AC, and I think that makes a difference. I like driving with the windows down anyway, but the added mpg is a nice bonus. Ever since I bought the car I have gotten 24-25mpg consistently, and since 2 months ago when it got warmer and I didnt use the AC at all the gas mileage has increased a ton. I usually wait until the light comes on to fuel up, and I've been getting over 400 miles to the tank easily. I still take off at lights pretty aggressively (shift into 2nd @ 5k, into 3rd @ 4k, into 4th @ 3k, and usually skip 5th and go right to 6th if I'm above 50mph), and the car sees redline at least once or twice on my drive to work.

Just thought I'd share, since with gas prices so high every drop counts.

I now in Montreal, Just arrived from Nashua , NH. A total trip of 285-295 miles. I filled up exactly 16.5 Gals Premium 93 Mobil 1
Gas. I consumed 8-9 Galons... I am barely below mid tank mark.

I was driving an average of 75 MPH with few passes upward hi 80s....

I had a passenger and trunk full of luggages.

How about that ?

A review of the new tires will follow soon

Maybe the people with lower gas mileage should check their tire pressure, too low and it will give worse gas mileage.

That drop from mid to empty is fast...

I've never gotten that kind of mileage on hiway driving. I see you have a 6 speed too which usually get less mpg than the automatics. My tires are at 35psi. I never redline but I do run the rpms some.
I don't wait til the tank is near empty to fill up. Not a good habit because you can pull in any sediment and water in when the tank is low.
I usually get less than 20 in the city, and around 23-24 hiway and I have had 2 6 speeds, mileages are near the same on both.

been averaging about 27 mpg since day 1. Mostly highway but some rural in the daily commute as well. The only time my MPG varies from 27 is when I have a little fun moving through the gears in (VTEC range)
