Average age of CL Type-S drivers

How old do you think the average driver of a CL Type-S is? What age group was the car marketed far?

I was 35 when I bought mine. I think it was marketed more for my age group than the many 18 year olds who own them now as 30k was not exactly a cheap car when new.

plus, you really don't see many older people on forums to begin with, so with this with poll is pretty inacurate, it is just the average of people on this forum......

Yeah man I know. This guy I work with has been giving me shit telling me I drive an old mans car (he drive a passat .. yeah exactly). So I just wanted to see what age group everyone here thinks the CLS falls into.

i got mine at 22 yrs old. would have had one at 19, but they didn't come in manual, so when it was offered i got one.

def. not an old mans car, a passat is though. tell him to race you he'll think different

I chose 26-35 to be the average age, Although I think it was marketed for the 30-45 area. I was 21 when I bought mine.

Got mine at 25, but i'm 26 now so i voted on the 2nd option.

I've almost never seen anyone my age driving a cl/tl. It's always old farts or old nannys.

There has been the few exceptions..

22 here.

I have yet to see someone with a CL-S here where I live, let alone a 2003 model!

I love the "WTF is an Acura CL" comment, lol!

This car is defiantly not a young person's car. Most manufactures think that young means X-TREME. I think that the RSX is Acura's target for the youth market. I believe this car was built for the purpose of chipping away at BMW's grip on business professional market (27-45). I love my CL but i am tired of seeing only white old women driving it. LOL. One thing I love is the fact that most of my friends don't have one. They all have X-TREME civics or Jetta's. I like to be noticed when I'm driving. I mean my car is 4 years old and people still look at it puzzled like what car is that.

IMO, the CL does seem like it was targeted at an older range considering the price tag brand new. But there's nothing wrong with a younger crowd driving it cause and awesome car is an awesome car. I got my rims put on the other day and the guy says "next time bring a towel so i can wipe off my drool"....and after all is said and done, it comes down to one thing...do the women dig it? Yes they do

The CL was marketed to old people like me

But all you young whippersnappers are buying it...

Acura's marketing department seems a bit clueless:

Seems like the demographic that Acura thinks would be buying the RSX is actually buying the CL instead. This is even further exaggerated by the fact that younger and younger people are now buying the CL as a used car (becoming the 2nd or 3rd owners).

Bought mine when I was 20. Had it for less than a year now and I LOVE IT!!! I wish I can agree when ppl say 2nd generation CL is rare, but just in my apt complex, there are 5 CL (3 CL-S and 2 CL-P) (2 SSM, 2 Black and one gold).. but then again.. only one 2003 CLS and that's MINE...puhahahaha

For once, I would like to see low 20's VERY attractive female driving 2nd generation CL.. I hate it when my friends pick on me for driving "old ppl's car" and I can't seem to disagree !!! Post your pics if there are any female CL drivers..!! =D

I think the car was not originally made for the younger 16-25 crowd but since then the market has changed where younger people like buying luxery cars because it's "pimp". I bought my CL-S 3 months ago and I'm 23. I wanted to try a Honda, looked at an RSX but a rare CL-S 6spd came around for about the same price so I jumped on it. Gave me the performace that I was looking for, with class that the RSX didn't have. The only thing I wish it had was RWD. =)

Bought mine in 2000, age 48 ... had just sold my BMW 540 and was looking for performance, comfort, gadgets (Navi, tilting passenger mirror, Xenon, etc) and quality. Except for the tranny issues, got everything I wanted ... hated to see it go. Saving for the new M5 now.
