Did you get springs and sways yet? If so, where did you get them, how much did you pay, and where were they installed?

Currently, I am planning to order them through autocarparts.com, although that could change. I would really like to find a reputable place to have them installed for a reasonable price.

Thanks.

I got the springs from autocarparts.com for 320 including shipping. I took the back seat out and then had a local honda/acura (non dealer) repair place put them in for 200. I then had the alignment completed at Goodson for 75. Vandergrif wanted 480 install + 99 alignment. Call MacChurchhill service and see if they can purchase, install + alignment for one price. If they can get dealer cost of around 200 for the springs they might give you a break on the install. Work on an install price that includes alignment from the dealer. Still I wouldn't go higher than 600 for work + springs. Sways are next on my schedule maybe next month. Then Headers around July. I will be installing these myself. I have restored a number of cars and don't mind doing the work. The lowered look was worth the new springs. THe car does ride different not worse just different. Good Luck

Where did you get yours installed? How difficult was it to get the back seats out? Has the handling improved a great deal without the sways on?

I work in Las Colinas, could we meet up some time so I could check out your ride? I'd really like to see one with Comptech springs!

1) A acura honda repair place,"Automotion" in Carrolton by the Home Depot off Trinity Mills and 35. I have the service manual so I showed them how to align the shock springs before reinstalling, also they needed the torque spec's that I had from the manual. I was there insuring they did it right, it took about 2 hours with 2 guys working, now trained. Back seat is easy, pull up firmly on lower two buns and then remove. Then remove the four lower back seat bolts, then the two (front of rear console) bolts. Remove console, then lift back seat straight up about two inches. You can now carefully swing it out.
Handling seems to have improved, I did it for the better look. Next Month I'll install sways. Next SAt or Sun morning would be a good time for a meet. Coppell is off 635 and Freeport or Royal. That is the western start of Las Colinas (or locally known here as the Irving Business District)

Sorry, haven't got the springs or sways yet. I plan on getting them later this year, when I have more $$$.

So I am sure I will be asking you guys where you went and what you paid.

David McDavid in Plano wanted way too much for the install and alignment. Outrageous.

Avengerjr,
Did you get your Xephyr CAI in the mail yet? If so i'd love to hear your review of it once you get it installed. I'm itching to buy one and this one's pretty reasonably priced and has the AEM bi-pass valve too.

Thanks

I have not done any performance mods to my car yet. I do plan on getting the headers and sways soon.

I have heard that Jotech here in Plano can do the installation. I would imagine that it is cheaper than a dealership, and probably more experienced with aftermarket mods than a dealer. I will let you know the pricing when I get it.

There was one person from the area (Eric???) that had the headers installed. These topics disappear so fast I don't think I could find the old thread, but I believe he is the one who told me about Jotech. Not sure tho.

If anyone gets any information in the DFW area and would like to keep in touch via email, let's set up a local email group. My email address is praymond@nextcell.com.

My bad, it's Garland. The only one I know of.

I called Jotech and they quoted me $300 to put on the headers. They said they had not done a CL-S yet (headers). I did not talk to them about the sways.

I know others on this board have had it done for less, but I don't know of anyone else in the DFW area.

Called Jotech. They are familiar with the CL and quoted me a 4 hour install time. $150 for the springs and $200 for the sways.

I was hoping to get these installed for $250 and an alignment for $50, but they seem to have the best price so far.

that sounds really good. david mcdavid wanted like $600 for the freakin springs!! So $350 for springs AND sways sounds great. would you take it to the dealer then for the alignment or have jotech do it as well?

They can't do alignments, but a shop next to them can for $75. I may shop around for that because I've heard you can get one for $50.

Have you guys heard of a local shop called Better by Borden? I was referred to them by Goodsen Acura. Apparently, they specialize in Hondas/Acuras and the guy who owns it used to work for Goodsen for many years. I tried to call them but can't seem to get through. If one of you guys can, let me know what the install price on the Comptech springs and sways would be.

Thanks!
