I've been looking around (And searching) trying to figure out what other acura model's shifters will transfer over to our cars. I've read that the 99 model TL's will, and I've heard the RSX and MDX ones will? Any help on a list of models to choose from would be great.

Also, how can I be sure aftermarket shifters will fit? (I'm pretty ignorant on the automatic shifter choices and I couldn't get a good idea with searching.)

Secondly, I saw a post about somebody cutting his shift throw to be lower, has anyone else done this?

 

whats wrong with your normal Type S knob?

 

It looks tacky as hell

 

its not too bad...just sits a little bit too high.

 

My friend says that any manual knob will work since the auto knob is just threaded on. Anyone know if this is true?

Any of the other Acura auto shift knobs will fit. I have an 05 TSX knob and it threads about an inch lower than the stock CL knob, and matches the seats/steering wheel perfectly with the perforated leather. Plus, it doesn't have that cheesy 'TYPE-S' plastic emblem on the top that looks like it came from Advanced Auto Parts.
