Automatic Locking of the doors in the CL

For some reason when I start up my car, my 2003 Cl Type S now autolocks itself, and I cant get out of the car without unlocking it. It didnt use to be this way...anyone know the deal?

my car does that, but if you pull the handle from the drivers side (on the inside) it automatically unlocks the door for you so you can get out

I think you have a aftermarket alarm shock sensor installed from the dealer. Just look for a LED light on the drivers kick panel. Acura don't have auto locking door as an option.

Wow strange, but I am glad mine doesn't do this. Now if it did like Silvia's 3000 that would be ok, but my sisters Grand Am just pisses me off when I pull the damn handle and the bastard won't let me out.

it may be due to the remote activation. my old accord would auto-lock the doors AFTER i got out after a minute or so.

i discovered that i caused it by hitting the remote "lock" button enough times to cause the horn to "chirp". i think it took pressing the lock button 2 or 3 times in a row.

i was able to disable the feature by pressing the remote "unlock" button enough times to cause the horn to "chirp" again. this also took pressing the unlock button 2 or 3 times in a row. the remotes and door lock/unlock features are almost identical to the accord so i think they're identical or nearly identical systems.

try pressing the "unlock" button 2 or 3 times next time you get out of the car. this may eliminate the "auto-lock" function you seem to be experiencing at the moment.

if it does you should also be able to re-enable the "auto-lock" function by pressing the lock button 2 or 3 times.

Strange. The CL alarm is not really programable. So this should not be posiable. Try changing the battery in your key fob?

Doesn't work on mine. Just tried pressing the lock button a gazillion times. Do you have the factory keyless entry?

Naw man cause I've never seen this on any TL or CL...EVER. Plus every single time I get out of my car I press the lock button like 3-4 times. (I get nervous and think it's not locking) and my door locks have never locked by themselves. I think this was programable on the RL's and 1st gen cl's but I'm almost positive that it's not on the secong gen cl's and tl's.
