Auto Shift Knob (question)
Auto Shift Knob (question)
The leather around the auto shift stick is "rotting" away, deteriorating... I now have the Type S emblem surrounded by the plastic underneath leather and the leather covering begins maybe 1/2 inch down. Any suggestions? Should I learn to live with it? in case I want to try and "upholster" again... how do I remove the knob? All the best for 2011 my friends!!!
The knob simply unscrews. Just turn it counter-clockwise. It might be tough, but it'll break loose.
As far as doing anything to repair it, I'd just purchase a new one.

Yeah that's just an example of the shift knob I have. No boot. There were a couple of individuals who put a boot in or attempted to and it's just a wacky idea to me for an auto.

Also, I don't use the sport shift because I'm scccaarrreeedddd for me tranny!
if you have the black ebony interior trim i'd go with the acura 07 tl-s auto shift knob... screws right on with no hassle. it's the carbon fiber look one
that's what i got.. love it

I went with a nice Momo shift knob. Much better than the OEM one anyways.
