auto burnout question..

for you guys with autos..i've got headers, cai, exhaust, and vtec controller (it hasn't been dyno tuned though) when you turn off your VSA, and you gun it, do you smoke up your tires? i know i can break traction..but can you smoke up the tires (stockers or not?) i just went back to my stocks, and i can break loose, but i haven't seen any smoke/tread left on the streets...it does break traction though, i can feel/hear it...anyone in Los Angeles area know a place i can get my car dyno tuned also?

Burn outs on stock radials is simply a complete waste that only adds to excessive wear on car and is no help for gaining traction like burn outs are for slicks! With our weak autos torque braking isn't smart either and really won't improve times that much!
Good luck with your track racing and dynos are everywhere in SoCal. Look them up in the Yellows!

just put it in 1st. Hit the ebrake....PUNCH IT! You'll start smokin the tires...then let off the ebrake and you're set.

i dont think he talking about advice on traction ...i sense concern over his car like should it hit harder? answer in the heat and humidity no sounds normal...in dry /cool should be able to raost them all of first and maybe even second

Ebrake is a joke on the CLS. I can drive with ebrake applied... it does not stop the CLS from moving!

so then whats the best way to start off a run with the auto cl-s if torque braking doesn't help? just floor it from a stand still?

robeaneee,

it all depends on how sticky the surface ur running on is, u gotta experiment w/ it, but if u just nail it ur prolly gonna light em up so i'd just ease into the throttle for a split second then hammer it

at the track to spin the wheels.. all what I have to do.. stand on brake like for a sec, raise the rpm to 2k... lift left, punch right and the tires are spinning like a mad dog!
