Audi TT
Ok coming to work, spotted a TT, I have only seen 2 TTs on the road before, 1 was a hot blonde and other is a female friend of mine, pretty cute too i would say. Oh and that chick in MI2. So I have always thought TTs are driven by hot chicks, with that in mind i went after it to see who is driving it. Cutted a few cars and got behind it, saw the long blonde hair, nice, then while i was pulling up next to it, she saw me, thinking i want to race i guess, so she took off, and i floored mine. Well lets just say that I never got to see any of her, the TT kept pulling farther and farther away while im flooring my car. How fast are those cars? I didnt think they were that fast. Well I left mine in auto though so that put me back at least 4 secs from the tests i did before between auto and SS. But still, she was gone!!!
how fast were you going? What gear were you in? Gear makes a huge difference. The TT is performance from the ground up so even if that thing is in 5th gear she will pull hard becuase the ratio is prolly like .7 or something, while we are at .4!!!!!
she was going about 70 i would say. I steped to 75 when i was pulling next to it and she took off. I guess she dropped to 3rd or seomthing, i was in auto and I didnt even think about the SS cause i was trying to see through her window to see if she was hot or not. all i did was floor it, which could be y i fell behind cuase the auto was probbaly in 5th gear. This guy at work here just told me his TT is not that fast, he siad he has 225hp 0-60 is only 7.4 sec about, but he can pull at any rpm, power whenever he wants plus the turbo. He said he would race me after work today but he thinks I would win from below 30mph roll start or stand still. But if at 60+ he think he would win. Guess we'll see. Who do you guys think would win. 225hp/207lb torque TT or 225hp/217lb CLP. both have the SS/tiptronnic whatever is called.
BTW any tips as to what i should do to win, i personally think his would win. Whoever loose buys the other lunch tommorrow. hehe nothing like a friendly race. He said we would do a red light stand still which he said he is very sure i would win, then a 60mph start on the highway, which he thinks he would win.
oh you have a CLP. TT's have AWD so that will probably give him the edge. You could break-torque (gas and brake at the same time) if you are going from a stand still. It will probably be close since he has an auto. If the car were a manual, then you would lose badly.

I don't know what audi this guy is driving, but if it's an auto, it isn't a tt (of any flavor). they have manual transmissions only.

oh no his is a stick, i meant to say "mine have" not both have, the SS thingy so i was wondering if i use that, would it help in the race since he said his car is about 7.4-7.5 from 0-60 and CLP supposely does 7.0-7.1, some sites even said 6.6 but i doubt is that low. I got 6.8 when i had my gf timed me, and from 55 to 80 only took about 4-5 sec. So what do u guys think, do i have a chance?

honestly, I don't know. I was under the impression that the tt 225 hp was faster than the cl-s, but all I've seen online says 7 sec 0-60, which as you note is what the cl-p is supposed to run. I dunno, I'd still be cautious.
but I will say this - his advantage with the quattro (in a straight line and dry conditions) is from a standing start (and the launch needs to be aggressive or the clutch slipped to prevent bogging) so if you're already rolling, he won't get as much benefit from awd. if the tt performance truly is in the 7 second range, and he isn't aggressive in launching the car, you probably do have a decent chance of beating him.

sorry. I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

werd.
ok heres the result. I won from 5mph to 70. Then he won from 60 till 120 about.
We didnt get a stand still start cause by the time we got to the light it turned green, but we were side by side doing 5mph. so at 5mph, he said on his mark, so we closed windows, i flipped to SS , he knodded we went, 1st then 2nd gear, we raced till 70 and i won, his front bumper was at my door.
Then we got onto the highway, from 60 start, i droped to 2nd and took off, we were even when i was in 2nd gear, then once i pushed to 3rd, he started pulling(his turbo kicked in maybe??), i fell back as far as behind his rear bumper but then by about redline of 3rd, i gained a little and my bumper was at his rear bumper, then once i pushed to 4th, bye bye, i fell back to about half a car space behind, he flashed hazard when i was doing 130 about, and he was a full space in front.

Don't even think about it

The APR S4 2.7T chip is available in a 1.0 Bar configuration. The chip is designed to operate within the turbochargers' efficiency range. The APR 1.0 Bar performance chip is good for 307 horsepower and 366 ft. lbs. of torque.

Not saying that this chip can or can't do what it claims, but actual dyno graphs would be nice to see.

maybe they're using an engine dyno to get the "at-the-crank figures"?
and neither of the hp and torque graphs cross at 5252 rpm as they should :P
