ATTN: New Tranny Owners!
I'm enjoying the shit out of this new tranny!!! Is it just me or does your first gear feel a little lower? I hit the gas and it shot through 1st gear so fast I thought the synchrinization was fucked. It shot right into 2nd gear and UMPH right into 3rd gear and UMPH right into 4th gear. There's no hesitation in the least bit.
I dunno. Maybe driving that boring 08's TSX for a few days then going back to my CLS I have to get used to driving my old girl again. Anyone else notice a difference in the old tranny and the new tranny or is the performance about the same?

Okay I've had my car back for a while now. I'm convinced that first gear is a tad lower with the new tranny. The car takes off so much quicker with the new tranny and shifts quickly into second gear like nobody's business. It seems that with the old tranny the car just kinda slipped into each gear but with the new tranny it slams hard into each gear with authority.

Some people say they actually make it so the engine isn't as fast to try and reduce the load on the transmission, not sure if that's true or not. I do like how when you get on the throttle the shifts are very rough, it makes it that much more fun.

I had my transmission replaced a few years ago along with the ECU and noticed that the car then shifted at like 5k rpm, which really sucked. But fortunately I have the Unichip so I just reprogrammed it and now my car will redline whenever I want it to. Acura seriously changed the shift points in the new transmissions as a means of making them last longer. That just sucks for people who enjoy making use of the performance the car has to offer.

I actually felt the opposite effect. I had my tranny and ECU replaced about 3 weeks ago and it feels much smoother between 1st and 2nd shift. It feels more like a newer TL. Still just as fast, however much smoother pick up.

I had a feeling something was up too when I tried to hit 140mph yesterday and it wouldn't go past 120mph. It just sat there for about 15 seconds and did nothing. All of a sudden there was a blip of throttle response and it kept climbing up to 140mph. I don't know what happened but the next time I hit 140mph it pulled harder past 110 all the way up to 140mph whereas last time it kind of strained a tad past 120mph.
