Got Pulled Over

Well anyway after work I had turned on the lights halfway like interior dash to see when my car was warmed up a little. Then I just pulled out forgetting to turn them on completely and not realizing it because of all the street lights. I then see lights coming towards me on the opposite lane as the car passes me I see that its a cop, then in my rearview mirror I see him turn around, thats when i realize I forgot my lights, well he catches up real quick with his lights on. I pull over and Im all nervous as this is my first cop encounter with my CL let alone any car. Im scarred im gonna get a ticket for a really stupid thing. I turn on my interior lights (Ha, I read that on Acurazine somewhere) and stuff. After I explain to him I had just pulled out from work he just asks for my license and tells me, all the while chuckling cause he sees me all nervous and scared, he was just checking to see if I was drinking.

Yah, my first encounter with the 5-0 wasnt that bad. However, I definately didnt enjoy it. Have you guys ever gotten a ticket for no lights?

I don't think they can ticket you, just tell you to turn them on. I could be wrong though.

Driving with no headlights sundown or in headlight designated areas is a non-moving violation. They could ticket you but is easily fought in court so most don't bother unless you're soooo freaking stupid about it that they just absolutely have to.

First run in with the cops huh? Perrrty scary isn't it? Doesn't have to be.

If you want some tips on what to do for future reference, search up this one thread I made a while back called "You're being pulled over. Now what?" or just search by name ....

Good luck buddy.

just leave your lights in the on position all the time, you won't have to worry about that ever again.
