yeah .. it'd ALSO be nice to see an automatic s/c-ed CL-S/TL-S go to the track... we already sorta have pseudo-stats on the 6-speeder c/o C&D.

There are guys on this site with the AUTO and NO S/C running faster than that!!!! That C&D run was PATHETIC at best!!!

The auto with a S/C will be running mid 13s all day long!!

The 6 spdr will be runnin LOW 13s, high 12.9s with a GREAT launch!!!

Just my

the biggest problem again guys is traction .your not going to run mid 13s unless we can get drag radials and eliminate wheel hop.well high 13s but 12s would be great im getting ready to run next month so ill post my times whatever it is.

Well I have less than 200 miles on the car since it has been S/C'ed so sit tight... It is pretty hard for me to find the time.. people won't stop dying on me here.... besides the track is a good hour away and no one wishes to take off work to go with me (need to get there early or you will never get a run in--)

I have not gotten a good solid sleep in since I got back from vacation........ it is like coming back from vacation is a ticket to work you to death..

Is there a known method of eliminating wheel hop on a CL? I know a lot of Hondas have the double wishbone suspension and I'm sure they all hop bad. (My Prelude did) There are definitely some quick front drive Hondas out there so it can be done. Does anyone know what causes the wheel hop on these cars? Suspension design? Motor mounts? Shocks and springs don't seem to cure it to any significant degree.

You can't launch the 6-speed hard... anything over 1.5K RPM and you are doomed

Anybody know where there is more info on this? I would love to be able to get some nice smooth wheelspin. Not that I would ever do anything like that.

you probably didn't take a look at the other stats b/c all you do is jerk off to your 14.27 timeslip ...

Next time you care to enlighten yourself (which may not be for a while) consider the other stats like the 30-50mph, 50-70, etc...

that car will outhaul you any day from a roll... AND from a stop if properly driven ..

How can you BEAT their 14.2 exactly?? you refuse to go to the track and BEST your 14.2 time!

btw, not trying 2 start a controversy or anything w/those above numbers....unfortunatelylack of traction is the reason why I went w/those numbers...however, i know for a fact that any cl-s/tl-s that has an s/c, will have its greatest advantage from a roll in a race (above 35mph)

I'd say you're right on with these time as far as this would be the range that most cars would end up in. I know everyone quotes thier fastest time, but we all know what "other" times our cars have produced on trips to the strip. Last trip to the strip I was running low 14s. Wonder why I didn't post the slips?:flamer:

But in all honesty, my engine is short of its expected (desired) output and I live in hell. But I believe that a healthy SC auto should put down 13.8s to 13.9s consistantly.

Is this the Z-bar for controling wheel hop? What exactly is it? Anyone have a picture of this. Eliminating wheel hop on the 6-speed cars would probably help a lot at the strip.

Not for our cars yet, but I guess they're going to try it.

Go to products, and scroll down a few, and you'll see the bars for the older Honda's. http://www.z10eng.com/index2.cfm

Very interesting. I wonder if beefing up the stock radius arm bushings would accomplish the same thing. I remember taking my Prelude to the track. You either had to bog it or get a bunch of wheel hop. Sticky tires seemed to make it worse too.

Jens had suggested the same thing a while back, but no one has tried it that I know of. There's nothing available off the shelf, so it would take a little R&D and some sort of cross-application.

Hmmm.....This is exactly what I had thought about doing with the Prelude. From looking at the Helms the CL suspension is pretty much the same design. The only place where there could be much slop is where the radius arm attaches to the body (It bolts directly to the lower control arm). It has two big cushy rubber bushings (they're actually hollow) that sandwich on to the cross member. I wonder if you could just change the rear bushing to poyurathane to eliminate the wheel hop and leave the front one in place to help absorb impacts. This could be the ultimate cheap SOB mod. Looks like a piece of cake to change. Would have to be the right size though as this is where the caster is adjusted.

Found some more info on the wheel hop issue and a really cheap fix. (possibly......would have to try it to be sure). This shows a cheap way to reinforce motor mounts on an Evo. Could work for us. Would also work well on the radius rod bushings as they are pretty much shaped like a cup.
