Attempted Break-in (PICS)

Shitheads tried for the second time in 3 years to break in the car. This time they managed to destroy the passenger side window. Tried to get in through the side of the window, but they were not successful.
Then broke a small hole by the door handle so they could reach in and pop the door handle. Didn't succeed, but of course I have to replace window.
Window replacement is $190.00. Not sure about the tint.

Don't know how I copied a real estate listing in there, but here is the inside shot of the damage.
Not sure how to edit original post.

Man that sucks.

What I don't get is if they shattered the window... why not push all of it inside to be able to easily get inside the car?

Almost looks like vandalism more than anything...

Forgot to put that this was happened between 5-7 in the evening, still light outside. You can see where they tried to put some sort of tool in the side of the pillar. Then put a half-dollar sized hole right by the door handle.
Happened in Downtown Dayton. Probably some opportunist. The only thing that irks me is that there was nothing in the car to steal, except for my aftermarket Sirrius unit. Maybe that's what they saw.

Since they were trying to open the door, I guess they don't know that you have an alarm.

Did your other break-in happen in St. Louis?

Yeah, the first time was in St. Louis the first night after I bought the car. Tried to get in on the same side through the top of the window. Just left a couple of indentations on the chrome trim around the window.

never got that trim piece fixed, so whoever tried to break-in yesturday saw the marks on the chrome and thougt they could get in also. who knows....

I really dislike car thieves..... if I ever catch one/two or 3 of them in the act, I know I will be doing some serious jail time if they ever find the bodies..

Sorry to hear. But this sounds like just punks looking for a ride. Or looking to steal stuff from inside the car. Any real thief would have just broken the window or opened the door without a mark.
I'd add a shock sensor. It's really easy to do & it would have triggered the alarm.

There's always one ignoramous. I happen to live in some lofts in downtown Dayton. Not the biggest fan of Dayton, but it's probably the best living space they have to offer.
But you are definitely entitled to your dumbass opinon

...and you live in Michigan.......Home of Flint and D-town...absoulutely no room to talk. My family lives in Detroit, so I am not completely blasting the state really jus t your silly ass. Have a nice night retard.

Man, some peole just don't have common sense to leave other people's property alone. Which is why fools like those never see what a diploma looks like. At least the tint held the glass in place. If only California lawmakers could see how big an advantage this is in safety, maybe we'd be able to legally tint our front windows!

Sorry for offending you. I was saying this in jest, but since you have already resorted to name calling......

A loft is a politically correct term for "big profits from an abandoned building, otherwise undevelopable in the less fortunate area of a city."

Like I said, move out of the ghetto. Dayton is not much of a town itself. Note where the new money is building...as far from the inner city of Cinci and Dayton, filling the areas in between.

And I am sorry to hear that your family lives in Detroit. it is a far bigger waste of a city than dayton , Cinci, Columbus and Cleveland combined.

I am not proud of living close to Detroit either, but I am fortunate enough to be a home and land owner in the city of Livonia...recognized in the state of Michigan to have the lowest cirme rate according to the FBI and Michingan state police.

Here are some comments. Put these in your pipe and smoke it, and like I said....

MOVE OUT OF THE GHETTO!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Livonia is a city located in the northwest part of Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 100,545. The city is a part of the Detroit metropolitan area, being about 22 miles northwest from downtown Detroit and 2 miles from the outer fringes of Detroit (Livonia and Detroit share Redford as a common border). According to the Chicago Tribune, Livonia has the greatest percentage of "white" residents of cities over 100,000 in the country, therefore leading them to label it the "whitest city in America".

The following chart lists the top ten cities with the lowest crime rate and having a population over 100,000:

City Population 10M Citizens
1. Simi Valley, CA 108,469 221.4
2. Thousand Oaks, CA 112,559 226.3
3. Amherst Town, NY 107,331 256.1
4. Santa Clarita, CA 125,435 259.5
5. Sunnyvale, CA 121,284 287.6
6. Irvine, CA 121,410 321.0
7. Livonia, MI 101,450 337.3
8. Orange, 118,445 344.9
9. Sterling Heights, MI 120,737 378.5
10. Huntington Beach, CA 191,911 380.6

I could honestly care less about living in a loft..Blah,Blah,Blah...you kinda put me in defense mode.
Glad to hear that you live in such a safe enviornment and you have nothing to worry about. God is really smiling on you.

What does this have to do with a city being 'ghetto'? It just states that there is a high percentage of 'whites' living in the area, which says absolutely nothing about the area itself.

At least the glass didn't shatter all over the interior.

There is tint. That's what held the glass in place.

that sucks man, i would be so pissed.

but in all honesty, our car is extremely easy to open. i got it open in under 10 minutes because i locked my keys in the trunk. and there wasn't a scratch on my car.
