ATF Alternative to Honda's $7.50/Qt ?

Mobil I synthetic is $5.00 / Qt at PEP B's

But it is Dexron / Mercon

Anyone use the additives (1 oz/qt) that make Dexron Honda friendly ?

With all the CL transmission woes I would not do it for the CL but I've got a '96 RL that needs a fluid change.

Stick with Honda order yours from www.ahmotor.com

$3.75/Qrt plus shipping less than $8 for 3 Qrts. Total should be less than $20 for 3 Qrts.

Even better: hparts.com is running a sale now on Honda ATF-Z1 for $2.89/qt. They also have OEM oil filters for $3.60 (they're the ones listed for the 84-01 Accord). I ordered 9 qts of ATF, 2 oil filters and some power steering fluid. Shipping for all to AZ was $9.47 and the order got here quickly. http://www.hparts.com/sale.php3

It would be important to make sure to get the right Redline ATF (there is more than one)...

WTF? I paid less than 12 dollars for 3 quarts of honda ATf.. where the heck is this $7.50 coming from? I even got mine from the dealer.

RE: Redline... when we spoke to Comptech about the SC, they said even the lowest grade of redline ATF was better than Honda ATF.

Stick with Honda ATF. It is recommended for our cars. Even Mobil says to use the genuine Honda ATF.

How the hell do you get that damn ATF cap off? I nearly snapped my socket wrench I torqued on it so hard...and still couldn't get the thing to budge.
