anyone's ballast actually BURNT?
i replaced my bulbs with kaixens 6000k about may of this year, about a month ago the driver side started to flick on/off. i figured it couldn't be the bulb, had to be the ballast.
upon removal, the actual ballast connection to the bulb was burnt to the bulb. the plug is partially burnt inside the bulb to the point where i can't reuse it. the little plug inside the ballast connection is burnt. it smells like burnt firecrackers.
is this a ballast problem? being an electrical guy, i feel like it was a surge or the connection wasn't seated properly. but the passenger side is fine. any ideas?

i work with a lot of electronics, this reminds me when a connection isn't 100% secure in high voltage applications, so it actually has to arc across the 2 points causing excessive heat. i'm not sure if it was my error or a physical error. i just didn't think it was possible to not seat the ballast harness properly based on its design.
