Anyone w/Sumtomo HTR+ in stock CL-S size (215/50/17)

I started off with 40 psi all around, but it seemed too harsh, Now I'm at 36psi all around seems real good. Just chime in w/what your running for everyday use. I am aware of the lower load rating with these tires compared to the OEM Michelins and the Tirerack guys reminded me that they must be run at 36psi minimum. Thanks

I have them and ran 36psi, but this did cause the center tread to wear faster than the rest of the tire. Now run 34-35 and it seems to work better as far as wear is concerned

with FWD and AWD cars I like to dial in a few more psi to the rear tires to help the car feel more neutral. Typically about 2 psi ore in the rear. So if you are comfy at 36 psi, try 38 psi in the rear. I would only do this is you like to take turns somewhat agressively. Otherwise, it stiffens up the ride for nothing.

I have them in stock size. I ran for a while at 32. They were way to soft and tended to feel soft cornering.

I have since bumped up to 40. They seem great there for me. No indication of increased center wear.

Can you post a pic?

I'd like to see a pic of the 215/50 Sumi on the stock wheel if you can.

thanks

Yeah thanks for the feedback guys. I think 36 is where they are going to stay, since they perform so good right there and the ride is OK too. Dgracer - They look excellent...the tires look more agressive and wider than the stock Michelins. but I dont have that darn digital camerea yet! They look perfectly suited for the stock 2003 CL-S Wheel. I know a few people here have the stock size on the new 2003 wheels though and have seen the pix once or twice.

Thanks for the reply 6speedfreak. That is exactly what I wanted to know. No vibration/balance problems?

Thanks! I can see from the back wheel/tire at that angle they do look a bit wider, almost like a 225. Still a danger of rubbing the wheel at the carwash though. Oh well.

thanks chickai - you dont have to worry about any rubbing issues they dont stick out any more than any other normal tire. No vibrations, no problems w/balancing....but I have to say that the master Jens H. did them at Parkave Acura...so.....
