I never heard of rotor's being "dipped"??

The AEM big brake upgrade is great if you have the cash. Its around 2k, no?

It will decrease your braking distance very much. How much, I don't know. But its noticable. Less heat build up and more surface.

Well, "dipped" may have been presumptuous; cadmium-plated anyhow:

You probably won't see any performance gains. It says they are OEM rotors. I want to get them so I can get rid of the rusty ugly stock rotors. If you want performance
gains you will need to increase diameter and up your calipers....such as the Comptech Brembo kit.

Actually, improved looks is all I am really expecting, but I was wondering if the plating was holding up over time. The real-deal upgrades sound great, but way too expensive for my taste. Are you going to get slotted or cross drilled?

Thanks.

What are you talking about!?! You obviously have never had cross drilled on your car!! They take a bit to heat up so they don't screech, but cross drilled rotors stop on a dime!!

check the faq... there's a discussion on why crossdrillin' on OEM rotors are for LOOKS ONLY (and will prolly decrease breaking power)... slotted however maybe different (i don't know) can anyone give some insight on SLOTTED OEM rotors?

Do, let us know. I was thinking about going that same route.

What brake fluid are you going to use?

What pads are you going to use front/back?

BTW -- did the part # I got from Brembo --and sent to you -- match up with yours? (If not, can you give me the correct part number?)

Thanks...

If ya get the cross-drilled rotors you might want to add the SS brakelines for additional stopping power.

Yes, I think the SS would help.

they inproved the pedal feel but I don't know about a measurable performance increase unless on the track and really heating the brake fluid up...

Fair enough. On the street, they do't improve your stopping...but at HWY speeds...they decrease stopping distance significantly. Jens said that it would help for racing...HWY speeds are race speeds...and IMO, after owning cross-drilled...it is hard to go back to stock rotors. As for loss of surface area, I think that can be answered by the idea that because there are chamfered holes drilled into the rotors, these create a groove that the brake pads can actually catch on.....kinds like the wires set across aircraft carriers to slow down jets on descent.
