anyone see a MB S class in the cold?
anyone see a MB S class in the cold?
It was about 14 degrees in VA and me and my boys decided to check out the local MB dealer yesturday.
we drive up and see in the lot 5 MB s500 w/ the front sitting so friggen low it had negative camber. Kinda like the the black cl-s w/ airbags we see on this site. it looked like the suspension kinda gave out (no shocks).
I call one of the sales associates and ask what happen w/ all the s-classes and why they are sitting so low. He is all dazed and confused. He then gets another sales guy and he says its simply because of the cold weather.
Im like wtf??
he then goes on and says because its so friggen cold outside the air in the air suspenion contracts and thus the car looks lowered.
I then asked him, what If i parked my car outside and kinda drove the car fully into a parking space and had my front bumper over the sidewalk ( I don't do this of course). Would the car just gradually sink and have its bottom front sitting on the curb? he says YES!! and said most people would park the car in a garage... uh sure.
well he then fires up the car and lets it warm up and the S500's air suspenion filled up and the car was back to normal driving hieght.
Man if I drove a s500 home and the damn thing was sitting so low after a cold night I would of friggen flippped.

It has nothing to do with the cold, that problem is from the air suspension plainly giving out.
They had that issue with an E500 on the showroom floor, was actually decked out with a Lorinser kit and wheels. The thing was totally slammed, negative camber. Forgot whether it had to do with the battery or what not, there was a reason but was not due to cold weather.
