Anyone Running Single Exhaust?

SO I WAS WONDERING IF ANYBODY HAS RAN SINGLE 3" EXHAUST ON THERE CL? I WAS THINKING OF DOING SO ON MY TYPE-S AFTER HEARING IT ON YOUTUBE. IT WAS ACTUALLY ON A SWAPPED CIVIC WITH THE J32A MOTOR IN IT AND IT SOUNDED SICK! PLUS, DO YOU THINK THERE WILL BE ANY PERFORMANCE LOSS/GAINS BY DOING SO? ALL INPUT WOULD BE GREAT...THANKS

really? what kind? all the setups i have heard are week in my opinion. in florida there isnt really any problems with cops if you have loud exhaust, so i wanted to do like a buddy club pro=spec muffler and 3" straight exhaust...anyways..it is what it is

well, right now i just have the exhaust resonator removed and it sounds okay but only at high rpms, low rpms sounds like a rattle can big time

Single exhaust on J32's will result in a huge loss of torque but a gain in top end power. Its not worth it unless all you do is track your car and you're in the upper range of rpms all the time.

Thank You Guys For All The Comments And Info. I Figured It Would Result In A Loss In Torque And Gain In Horsepower, Depending On How Much It Still Might Be Worth It Because It Sounds Sick To Me.....

1 More Thought Though, What About Using Nsx Exhaust? That Would Be Cleaner Looking And Sound As Good And Be More Like A Stock Setup, Plus Its For Our Motor Anyways...thoughts On This Idea Would Be Great As Well...thanks Guys

YEAH MAN I KNOW, BUT IF YOU ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE SETUP, IT WOULD ONLY BE AN AXLE BACK FOR OUR CARS, SO YOU WOULD NEED CUSTOM 2.5" TO THE CAT. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE DUMB, I AM JUST THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT LIKES TO HAVE DIFFERENT STUFF AS LONG AS IT DOES AFFECT THINGS IN A NEGATIVE WAY.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH, NSX'S SOUND REDICULOUS, AND OUR CARS SHOULD SOUND VERY SIMILAR WITH SIMILAR EXHAUST IF IT COULD BE DONE DONT YA THINK?

NSX has a totally different motor. Please adjust your forum etiquette, it's pretty annoying.

Umm, wow, sorry brotha. okay, I guess I'll let this topic go for now. I am just tired of hearing and seeing the same exhaust systems and i wanted a more aggressive sounding exhaust, that has power gains as well.....Any ideas would be great...thanks to all

Exhausts on this car do not give power gains unless you have forced induction or have a fully worked motor. A full exhaust may give you 3-5hp if your lucky.

been there, done that.

you'll gain torque but loose power. It's gonna be louder with single. i've run straight 3" pipe with single greddy SP before, so take it from me, It's a poopoo attention getter...

thanks for the info man, but are you sure about the torque gain instead of the power gain? i would assume top end would be higher, but torque would be lost. anyways, if it sounds like that swapped civic, then i am in, cause it sounds siiiiick....lol..only problem is that single exhaust would look bad on our cars....
maybe i will just do a high flow cat,2.5" pipe to a flowmaster, then dual pipes out of the single muffler with decent tips...that should only throw me back about 250-300 and it should sound and perform good

Oh yeah I remember that setup :p it didn't sound that great either.

Siggy get some Apexi mufflers or some EvoII mufflers for your ride.
