Anyone race the new Eclipse yet?
I tried last night but traffic on the freeway was a little heavy. They are supposed to have 263 hp which is 3 more than what we have but it looks like the Eclipse is a lot heavier than our beloved CL-S. Do you think we can beat it?

I don't know depends on the gear ratios etc. take a look into that looks kinda like it would be a good one the CL-S might could pull it off in higher gears but definitely not off the line.

car and driver is saying 6.1 0-60 and 14.5 at 100 in the quarter with the six speed i believe. they say it only gets like 15 miles to the gallon. all around the cl is still a notch (i mean a couple of notches) above the new eclipse. The eclipse is kind of wierd looking, but i like it. it's better than the previous gens. no offense to anyone that has one. My friend has one and it's ok. I just curves in my cars.

Considering only 2 or 3 auto's have trapped above 100 MPH (and that's with I/H/E/Pulley/Chip) yes I believe it would pull on you.

aha... here we go:
Engine type V-6
Engine displacement 234 cu.in.
Engine horsepower 263-hp @ 5,750 rpm
Engine torque 260 lbs.-ft. @ 4,500 rpm
Valvetrain SOHC
Valves 24
Engine bore x stroke 3.6" x 3.0"
Compression ratio 9.00 to 1
Fuel tank capacity 18 gal.
Fuel economy city 18 mpg
Fuel economy highway 27 mpg
Drag coefficient .34
Curb weight 3,472 lbs.
terrible gas mileage, and that's a pretty big v6, but the car still looks like shit.

says "hello to my TLX".
the eclipse is supposed to be a sports car. so i don't mind that it's faster than mine. i can still hang with it speedwise. so when a punk in an eclipse thinks he'll leave me back, he can still look over and see me right there next to him rolling in style unlike the tailess sperm mitsu.

I don't even have headers and will be looking for one. And I think I have a 50/50 chance on winning.
Just remember, I'm not racing some trade rag statistic here but real world which makes this a drivers race. Fact is I've already beaten a G35C at the track that ran 14.2 sec and trapped over 100MPH. So I think the GT is within my reach.
And if I ever get my headers I'm betting I'll win most of the time.
