Anyone noticing Navi going berserk lately?

I drove about 26 miles across major freeways in LA and the Navi recalculated at least 10 times today... It usually doesn't.

anyone else noticing this?

I think it's location-specific.
When I take the beltway to work there's one spot where it always recalculates: going under the bridge where the Metro's Orange line passes. I guess the EMI confuses the GPS receiver.

Other than the usual, I've not noticed anything. I don't think the aliens have started to use our own satellites against us... yet.

Mine, so far twice, has begun to "twirl". The location of the car on the road is correct, but the entire screen turns, and keeps turning until I reboot (stop the car and restart it.) One other person I know has had this happen also.

It is not fatal, just annoying.

Sounds like the gyro in the trunk unit is dying. The gyro is what gives the navi dead reckoning which is what it uses to plot your course 90% of the time. A common symptom of a faulty gyro is constant "turning" when the car is not--the gyro is telling the navi the car is turning but in reality it is going straight or stopped.

Mine did the "twirling" (maybe 30-40 seconds per revolution?)thing several times about 6 months ago. Dealer replaced unit no more "twirling".
