I found this while looking for an OEM radio to take apart and experiment with...

Hell yeah they are expensive!!!! I called about a the chrome trim around the top of the driver door jam and they won't sell it. They said it goes with the roof. Kinda weird.

Who the hell would buy a roof?
Chrome trim would be the least of my concerns if I rolled my car over and needed a new roof.

My point exactly! If I rolled my car and IF it was repairable I think I would be looking for brand new trim pieces. And whos to say the door trim would be damaged with a rolled car? You would think a place trying this hard (by charging and arm and a leg) to make money on damaged cars would sell whatever they could!

Totally agreee. If they NEED it they will pay. Myself included. I do understand how some work. I went to a yard in South Jersey a few years ago because I needed a passenger door window for a car and they wouldn't sell it unless I wanted the whole door. To this date, that was the only one I went to that wouldn't let me "part out" the door. Some places are just silly. In the time it took them to sell that door, they could have parted out the door to 10 different people and made twice as much. Most places don't care what you need they will sell it to make money. If its a parts yard, sell parts. Not whole sections. In my opinion if you are going to sell whole sections, you shouldn't list to the general public. List to body shops and such. It would greatly reduce the number of calls asking for PARTS! I'm just ranting....
