i have never seen these cars before but recently i have seen over 10 in the bay area. at first i though it was a maserati but then it had kind of an old school lambo back. overall its pretty cool but really funky.

you prolly saw a mangusta. i haven't seen any in the bay area, but i saw one out there in ohio. it has a mustang 4.6l engine as well as interior components, not sure what else. they run about 85 large or so.

Was originally the Detomaso Mangusta, then became the Qvale Mangusta.....as they took over the rights to it.
If you look at them up close, they are pieces of shit.
As far as I know, Qvale is done selling the Mangusta.
The Panoz Esperante is a much nicer car.

They tried to promote them a couple of years ago by racing them in Trans-Am. They won some races, but only because it was a rebodied Roush Trans-Am Mustang. They had some street versions track side at Sebring. The only thing that was worth anything was the stock Cobra motor. Other than that it was $50k over priced. Just a car for people that have a lot of money, but no sence what so ever!

It used Ford Mustang drivetrain parts mated to an Italian Chassis with IRS instead of live axle .It was sort of an odd bird I saw a few of them here in the New York area and aso had an oportunity to get some seat time with the distibutor .It was an interesting but short lived car .
