the older (1.7) is just thicker and heavier...the even OLDER ones than that dont have some of the features and LED's that the 1.7 or 1.8 have.....at this point, youd be totally wasting your money to buy anything short of a 1.7....even that is getting outdated, your best bet is just to buy a brand new one

 

right...but I just wanted to see the size difference...to see how much of a difference it makes

 

i dont have a pic, but ebay always does...if i rememebr correctly, the shape of the 1.7 is 3/4 of an inch thicker in size and slightly heavier, no other difference in shape

I would like to go with the smaller one, too (today I have the larger model) but I know once I make the switch...the new V1 will come out.

I have an older v1 maybe 4 years. even if they come out with the a new model they have a pretty good upgrade program. you send them the old one they put all the new hardware in and give you the new smaller model. its like a 1/4 an inch skinnier. it like $170 so i wouldnt do it but once every 5 years or something. besides my old one works fine, but have been milling over getting the update.

buy one as soon as you can, you will be kicking yourself if you get a ticket now.

trust me. its worth every penny. just like tivo, if you dont have that either look into it. both of those purchases are worth every penny.

 

The only v2 that I know of it the one cops use against us running radar detectors (radar detector detector).

Seriously I don't think the v2 is anytime soon.
