Anyone get their back window tinted with bubbles?

I'm getting my CLS tinited now as we speak and the tint guy mentioned that the back window has these little "dots" near the top of the window. He said the tint will bubble up or won't look right if the tint was tinted all the way to the top. He suggested to tint up to where the "dots" start and leave that area untinted. But I told him to tint the whole window. He did show me an Integra with the same issue. They do offer a lifetime warranty on the tint as well. My question is anyone who tinted their back windshied, do you guys have that same issue with the top of the windshield with the "dots" and looking like not tinited at all?

Yeah all the windows are like that and yes my tint does go over those bubbles. He's probably trying to tell he's gonna screw it up. I think some people have had problems with "bad tinters." If the guy is good he can tint over the dots with no problem.

They stopped mine just before the dots started. They also didn't want to tint the dotted area. I have seen a few cars with a similar area tinted, & a few looked good, but a few also looked really bad. I might do something about that another day.

No tinter can really guarantee no bubbles over the dot matrix stuff. I had them put black vinyl on the inside of my back window over the dots and it looks great. Very factory I can take a pic of i if you like Do a search and you will find a lot of topics about this

Yep, this is true the Dot Matrix is a hard area to tint. Just because it comes out good one time is no garrentee that the it will next time. So I think you tinter was not "full of it" or "trying to tell you that he'd screw it up" but instead was just being honest about the possiblity of the finished look. Mine doesn't look perfect, but it doesn't look any worse than most that I've seen. I have also heard of people painting the matrixs or doing something similar to the above mentioned black felt. Hope this helps.

I had my 'dots' painted rather than tinted. It looks great and is hardly noticable when looking through your rear view mirror.

Just got the car back and it looks good. I thought it would turn out really bad. Not bad at all.

Glad to hear, Sid I like the way your paint job came out, must say it looks better than the tint job over my matrix. Also those sides have to be over your state's legal limit right? They are DARK!

The side windows are 30% tint. Since the legal limit on tinting the two front windows is no tint at all, you are corect. They are over the state's limit.

Haven't had a problem yet (knocks on fake bowling ball wood trim which may soon be extint) :P
