Anyone get a "check engine" light after a wash?

Well the engine light came on after I went through a touchless car wash. No intake or anything, bone stock. car is running fine, but the engine light is on. Any ideas?

no but my passenger side airbag light comes on and stays on all the time...even after getting it fixed. and my alignment is off. the very inside tread of my front tires is bald, the rest is fine. it makes a lovely low pitched humming sound when traveling and cornering at high speeds. it's the best, i fully recommend it

Bwhahahahah.....BMW electronics at its finest....doesnt it cost like $100 for the dealer to inspect it? And then another $100 for them to reset it?? Or is it more....cuz I seen their Tools going for $900...so i guess they have to fuck you in the ass....just like when you sold the TL and bought the 330.

Dood... He said it was on his Dad's RL, not his Bimmer!!!

I'd check the gas cap again, and re-fasten it... It'll take a few miles for the light to go off if that's the issue.

Not sure what could cause it otherwise... Strange indeed.

Well i called the dealer about the engine light, he told me to check the gas cap, which i did last night. But he said it might take 3 days for the light to go away. If not, then ill call him again.

I was going to tell you the same exact thing as the dealer said. Its says this in the owners manual & if the cap was not tighten correctly this would cause the light to come on . I hope thats your problem
