no. the reason is that you need all of the following:

engine management computer
transmission
flywheel
complete shifter assembly
clutch package
clutch master
clutch slave
clutch hydraulic lines
pedal assembly
emergency brake assembly and cables
engine mounts
engine shock
subframe
axles and stub axle
intake plumbing
catalyst forward exhaust or Comptech header assembly
center console assembly and related minor components
money to install all of this
money to make changes to the wiring harness as needed
time and money to troubleshoot

and its not street legal.

but good luck!

According to the new Transmission recall, if your auto transmission fails more than twice they have to give you the option of a 6spd. I just had it done on my car last week.

Would an 01-03 Auto CL-S J32A2 work with a 6spd transmission? The dealer has different part numbers for the auto 03 engine vs. the 03 6spd engine, so there has to be a difference? Could the headers just be the difference?

it would be cheaper and probably better just to sell the 01 and get an 03 6-speed

Will an 01 J32A2 work with a 6spd tranny? Assuming of course all the proper electronics and wiring were switched over? I've heard that the 6speed 2003 CL-S engine has an extra engine mount? Can anyone verify this? This may explain the difference in part numbers between the 03 auto and 03spd engines.

I think I posted about the company that makes the reinforced auto trannies. The company is velocity resources in CA. They make auto trannies capable of holding up to 600hp and the option of LSD and high stall torque converters. I believe that someone posted over in A-TL, that the new trannie may run in the range of $3000-$3500. Search over at A-TL. This company and tranny issue has arisen many times.

They are in FL. In the Orlando area. I have only heard of them making 1 so far that is up & running. I known they gave options & pricing on this site a while back. I don't think they are doing it anymore, or if they are be prepared to have no car for a long time while they use yours as a test mule.

I actually heard that a few more members over at A-TL had the upgraded transmission. But from what I seen, I think the trannie rebuild will take anywhere in the neighborhood of 3-5 months. I would get this done if I had a beater, but I can't live without my TL for 3-5 months.

I believe they have transmissions in stock so that they will just upgrade the stock unit and ship it to you. They would charge a core charge of course. I remember the pricing including freight costs.

Hey man....are these transmissions any special color? If I paid that much money for a fancy transmission, I'd want it to be a special color so everyone knew it was a special tranny.

For those of you who were serious, here is a quote from the original thread about the upgraded transmissions:

Stage 1 is with a funace brazed stock housing converter providing a 200RPM increase in stall speed. $2500+freight

Stage 2 is an anti-ballooning aftermarket converter--not a stock housing....provides a higher stall and suitable for power adder vehicles. $3500+freight

There are not as many internal parts available currently for the CLS/TLS 5Speed Autos as there are for the Accord/Preludes. The transmissions above are with Kevlar clutches and hardened steel shafts. We are awaiting the release of Carbon/Graphite clutches for these applications. Running production changes will occur as these parts become available.
I believe the "Carbon/Graphite" clutches are now available. A TL-S is running the upgraded transmission and is frequently on the A-CL board.
