Yeah, I wish I was contributing something important to your question...

I wouldn't bother

It's just something you rarely ever look at/need, much less...repalce. I mean, I just take a glance at it - the light isn't that important to me.

I can always just use any part of my Zainoed car

Last time I check, the hyperwhite bulbs were not made in that series.

There was a rumor floating around here that Zapata had changed them. I have not confirmed this. I have changed all my interior as well and would like to change those as well, just so they match the rest of the interior. I will PM him and see if he will respond to this thread!!!

I think they are type 561 or 211-2 bulbs, not sure. I dunno where you could find matching bulbs for the polargs. If you do find some, holla back.

No more lights in my visor. Replaced with a monitor. Anyone know how to get a mirror of some sort in there without getting tacky? She's also pulling down the visor only to see a video monitor there instead.

If you're willing to try it, maybe a small video camera right above or below the monitor in the visor?

That'd be a neat feature! Or, if the mirror is crucial, Maybe push the monitor slightly back and have a sliding mirror that can come across and above the screen (from the right probably), then slide back into place when not in use.

Just my thoughts...

That's a great idea, thanks. Now to find one of those tiny, tiny cameras.

If no one makes the hyperwhites in that size, what about just taking a blue sharpie marker to the bulbs and making your own?

Too ghetto?

looked last night at the actual bulb...it's a 12 or 14 volt bulb can't recall off hand which, but it says it on the bulb itself...manual is less than helpful...dunno if HELMS gives any info...VERY thin rounded clear in the middle with silver connections parts on both ends, similar to the dome light...HOWEVER, the silver connections do NOT come to a point; they stay rounded...think of them like a round fuse u see in Christmas lights...i have not seen any bulb shaped like that in my travels but will keep an eye out!!

I took out the bulb that is in the vanity mirror a while back to see if I could find a replacement for it..

The OEM one is listed as a
14V 1A

The onlything on the bulb indicating what type it is 14VO.1A-CML

I also measured the bulb itself and here are the measurements.
Total Length = 1 1/8 inch
Width = 3/16
Qty = 2/visor

So I started looking for bulbs and here is what I have found that might possibly work..

Raybrig 134
Can be bought for about $10 a bulb
Rated: 12v 5w
Bulb size:
Length = 29mm which is about 1 3/16 inch
W = 8mm which is 5/16 inch

This bulb is only 1/16 longer, and 1/8 wider than stock bulbs.. but if you notice the diagram, the ends are a bit slimmer than the bulb.. probably about 2mm.. so very close to stock..
There seems to be plenty of clearence for this as the prongs do move out a bit.. and there is space on the top to move the bulb up a bit and still make contact.. also in front of the bulb to the cover..

But I'm concerned about the 5w on this vs the 1w of stock..

GOOD RESEARCH BRO!!!!!! But is the bulb 1 watt or 1 amp?????
From what you posted, it is 14 volts and 1 amp!!! It is probably no more than 5 watts. I doubt it is only 1 watt, since you could barely see 1 watt. I wonder why it is 14 volts???? Where did you find them for $10?????? I will be the guinea pig!!!!

I just checked the HELMS and it says that the Vanity Mirror Lights are 12 Volts and 1.1 Watts. It does not say anything more than that!!! Since the vanity mirror lights are not used that often, 5 watts probably won't hurt. They will melt the plastic if you leave them on for any length of time. So if your GF is using the vanity mirror all the time to do her make-up, I would suggest getting a lower wattage bulb!!!!
