Does anyone know if it is possible to change the background of the Navi from stars to something else.

I like the stars, but it would be cool to have something new and fresh. Possible?

 

Sure it's possible, but does the screen saver come from an E-Prom or the DVD? The inner workings of the NAVI seems to be a better kept secret than Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.

 

Possible but not practical. I used the shortcut method, my screensaver is basically a lengthly mpeg video that I just run from my dvd player onto the Navi screen.

 

I'm confused? Do you have another DVD player in the car that you can swtich from the OEM player? Or, are you saying you can play mpegs from the OEM DVD player. I'm asking because I've never tried another DVD other than the OEM disk in the OEM player.

 

I believe that he is saying he has another dvd player. But back to the topic... It would be nice having something else other than those stars. They get old after a while. Maybe they could add some new screensavers to the new models.

 

Nope, not the OEM; but aftermarket DVD (another DVD player). I don't think you can put another type of DVD in the OEM disk drive.

Why does anyone see stars? Do you let it go that way often instead of turning on Navi? Downloading new and different screensavers would be nice, but I think the screensaver is in ROM and not on the DVD in which case, not possible with new DVD updates. Where is our new DVD for this Fall anyway....
