Any Other Cold Air Intakes?
Hello,
So I always hear about AEI and Injen. Great, I get a peice of pipe and a airfiler for $200-300. There has to be a cheaper solution... Does anyone have any options for me besides AEI or Injen? How about another off brand or e-bay CAI.
I've had the car for about 3 months and love it. Now I'm ready to do some basic modding.

Well, those are the big 2.

Comptech has the Ice-box out which is selling for mid-$200 which will add the same or possibly a little more HP then the AEM or Injen. We'll know the answer to that soon enough.

I'd keep it stock before making my own filer. HAha!!! There's has to be some other off brand that we don't talk about. How about E-BAY cheapo's!! FYI-- I've done some searching and there is nothing for the S. The 6-speed will probably make that even worse to find...

Well, you get what you pay for... so you may find a "replica" for cheaper, but will you get the gains out of it?
You may pay $100 for a knock off... but will you actually gain anything or will you just have a metal tube that makes more noise when you accelerate? Personally I wouldn't trust anyone but the big players when modding my car. Just not worth it in the long run.....

As far as I know the Weapon R is only a short ram intake, not a cold air... What would have been perfect was the Xephyr CAI. Cheap and nice! Apparently they don't sell Xephyr any longer.
Anyone have an Xephyr CAI they want to sell me? HAHA!

I got my Xephyr from Park Ave. Acura (the remaining inventory only had red available) about a year ago. Price + installation was about $150, not exactly sure. It was cheap but it is an impressive product.
I'll sell it for $75 w/ bypass, but it will not be availabe until April because I am in Brazil until then. I'm interested in this icebox thingy and may get that.

Sold. Just contact me when you get some time later... I assume I can just follow the posted instructions for the AEM. Being they are probably almost the same.
