Any notable problems with 03 cl-s?

After reading the post on about tranny issues on who is not on their 1st tranny, a lot of the members had 01 and 02 cars. Did Acura change the trannys in the 03's?
Also how good is the 6-speed in the 03's compared to the 5-AT?
Is the 6-MT the way to go?
Thanks
Dan

Definitely. but I'm biased. I've driven my current 6 speed and a previous one for a total of 2 years and they are fun filled pain free. I never considered an 01 or an 02 CLS because I wanted a manual shifter anyway.
good luck if you join the small 6 speed club, I recommend it.
about 3000 sold, 800 with the Navi.

have the brakes checked the rotors tend to warp early

Yep, for me, the 6spd was the only way to go. After reading about the auto tranny problems here, I only considered buying a 6spd. If acura hadn't made a 6spd CLS, I'd be driving something else now

And if Acura doesn't come out with a new killer coupe within the next 2 years I may be shopping other brands for the first time in 15 years.

The new 3 series BMW coupe, new Lexus IS coupe, redesigned Infiniti G35 coupe all should be here by about 2007. Where's the Acura coupe?

I can give you my opinion on your second and third questions since I have owned a 2001 CLS auto and currently have a 2003 CLS six speed. The CLS is a great car with a good blend of performance and luxury. The six speed is obviously different and in my mind a better performer than the automatic. I also believe the six speed is very reliable.

Bottom line; get the six speed to take full advantage of the great engine.

I have an 03 A/T CLS and the tranny went up. Im pissed and feel let down... Aside from that I love my car.

The seat squeaks, that pisses me off too.

Well hopefully by this upcoming summer's end, I will be buying an 03 cl-s with the 6MT. I want the ageaian (sp?) Blue with NAVI. Any idea on how rare that color and NAVI combo is?

Only 66? I would say that's scarce.

IMO i think you see more 01 and 02 cl-s with tranny problems is because they probably have more milage then the 03.

But your right aparently in the 03 trannies they have resolved some issues, i have an 03 5at and they told me i dont have the extention of a 100mile warranty because i have an improved tranny, unless i run into problems in the future
